What a find! Friendly staff, fabulous food and great location! The seafood risotto is really tasty and the flourless chocolate cake is to die for! Great value for money also, we'll definitely be back!

Friendly people at this place, which has an upstairs restaurant separate to the more casual dining in the plaza downstairs where a musician provided delightful accompaniment to our evening.

Food was delicious, the backstrap lamb was well presented and yummy as were all the meals of our party of four. Really great sparkling wine, too - Perriere' - and a very nice shiraz. We sat on the verandah overlooking the plaza and it was just wonderful. The owner came and chatted with us at the end which gave us an opportunity to tell him how much we had enjoyed our night. We shall all be returning.

Extremely bad service and very rude, avoid at all costs. We visited Epitome recently and were shocked by how bad it is. When trying to ask for a seat the wait-staff just walked past us. The senior staff also ignored us and continued his conversation even though he could see we were waiting to be seated.

Once we had found our own seat the food was very poor quality. It tasted like it was from a super-market freezer and the coffees were luke warm. They had some outdoor musicians but this was quickly ruined by the senior staff coming out and shouting abuse at them because he didn't like what they were playing. You'll have a better night out at any of the other restaurants nearby.

Came across this Reataurant quite by accident. We were wandering around Lane Cove looking for somewhere to have dinner and came across the Restaurant.

The food was magnificent, the staff were extremely friendly and the service better than I have experienced ever. Congratulations David on your wonderful establishment. I will definitely be back.

Epitome used to be a fantastic restaurant, really great. However the service there now is usually poor. The barrista can't make coffee, the waiters do not know what is on the menu and are unsoliciting. I am really disappointed to see the decline in what used to be a popular restaurant.

It's more of a restaurant than cafe, service is great and staff smiles, are friendly and helpful. Coffee is Molinari coffee, nothing special, milk is not of great quality, barista is very good, overall, not my cafe.

We went to Epitome recently for a birthday dinner and I called ahead to let them know. The food and wine was excellent, I had the pork belly and it was the best I have ever had, outstanding! The waitress was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. After our meals, the waitress came over with a plate of Tiramisu and a couple of lighted candles and started singing happy birthday, at which point the rest of the restaurant joined in! It was a fantastic night with nice complimentary touches and we would definitely go back. Thanks Epitome for a great evening.

Very good, the food was of a high standard, the service attentive and all in all it was a very pleasant experience. I could recommend to anyone looking for a good feed with reasonable value.

Service poor even early in evening before restaurant full. Vast improvement possible if better directed and organised. Probably excellent for brunch.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and had wonderful service. Enjoyed lunch upstairs with attentive waiters who were also very attentive to our kids (provided colouring in sheets etc.) Thank you so much.
