We went for a joint birthday, we loved the flavours of the food and the quality, but it was confusing when they bought it out as all of us had ordered different banquets and were not sure who should have what, should be separate plates for separate banquet prices. Though portion sizes were inadequate esp dessert, where two of us who purchased the delux banquet had to cut a piece of baclava and turkish delight in half as they only bought one of each out and one coffee each??
Were also extremely disappointed when we were specifically told there would be a belly dancer and there wasn't one, overall bit disappointing.
Went for a birthday and we each paid $30 for a set menu. The entrees were good but all we got for mains is one lousy small piece of lamb. All of us were still hungry and expecting more food to come out... or at least coffee or dessert. Instead we were asked to leave around 10pm. Never going back again!
I LOVE this place, consistently great tasting food at close to $25 per head and with BYO and no corkage it's top value! I find the staff very relaxed and friendly and they really make sure you feel welcome in what can feel like their lounge room! also love the belly dancer on a friday night, we sat there (group of 5) for 4 hours and just enjoyed the atmospehere. Try the Kebbe and the chicken and lamb skewers are divine. Highly recommended!
This place has been around forever. A collegue of mine use to come here in the 80's! It's good value and the food is delicious. I recommend sharing a $15 banquet between 2 and getting an extra chicken and rice $7 - heaps of food for two for $22.
I cannot really comment on the food at Emad's, because we never made it to eating due to the poor service! As the downstairs area was full, we were seated upstairs where there was only one other couple. After some time of waiting with no service, the second couple was forced to wander downstairs to place their order.
My boyfriend followed suit to ask for some wine glasses, only to find out that they do not provide wine glasses. He was given two thick set water glasses! Not have given an order we headed to the Lebanese next door where the service was perfect and we were able to drink our wine out of suitable glassware!
First time we'd been there for years. Don't know if it's authentic or not but it tasted very good and was good value. Ambience is fine for what it is! The service was friendly and quick despite having two large functions there. I'd go back.
I eat here a lot and always find myself leaving so full I can hardly walk! I highly recommend this place for a good value gathering when you're just wanting tasty food. The tabouli, babaganoush, chicken skewers, ladyfingers....the list goes on. It's just really well priced and great tasting. Don't go here expecting wonders from the decor and place settings and you'll love it.
