Finally had the pleasure of dining at El Toro and it was great experience.
Each dishes had special taste, the chilli prawns and the chicken croquettes flavour blend perfectly. I will bring all my family back for dinner and drink ASAP, and will recommend to all our friends. Love the ambience and service was excellent.

Some friends and I went to El Toro Tapas and Pizza Bar before movies, for a light meal, we ordered 5 dishes and shared them between 4 of us. Salt and pepper calamari were delicious, so were the garlic prawns and scotch fillet shashlyk were just mouthmelting.

The portions were small, but sufficient and very filling, also we really enjoyed a nice bottle of spanish red wine. The restaurant has good ambience and quick service with the smile, we will be back again, soon.

Came down for a dinner on thursday night with my friends and I really liked the place! The food was coming out just on time and tasted really nice! The service was good as well, the waiters were young people, very friendly and positive! The value of food was reasonable for the portions! Overall had a good time!

The service and ambience was not bad but that is all this place has going for it. The pizza was so bad it could not be finished and the pasta not much better. Found a hair in the pizza which didn't seem to bother them. Its a shame this place is rubbish as I live within a walking distance.

I'm reluctant to be too critical of a local restaurant since, heaven knows, speaking as a local, there is a shortage of appealing eateries in Maroubra. I hope El Toro improves over time since there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but you certainly wouldn't come from too far away just to eat here. We sampled a few offerings from the tapas menu and enjoyed them all, although some dishes were too heavy on the oil for our taste. A mixed leaf salad was generous and yummy.

As tapas experiences go, it was average-to-good, there is much better to be had elsewhere in Sydney. Service was friendly and efficient. Bang for the buck was not too bad: our filling meal for two cost around $60. We will be back to try more of the menu, and hope to see more wines offered by the glass as well.

I'm almost always disappointed by tapas... but this place is particularly below par. Tried 5 dishes - S&P calamari was ok but small serve... the rest were big serves but unexciting. I'm a local and if it was passable I'd be a regular but hard to return going on what we had tonight. Also theres no circulation in the place os it's uncomfortably warm.

When more than 3 of my friends recommend me a place, my curiosity got the best of me. I gotta admit, "El Toro Tapas and Pizza Bar" sounds inviting.

The four of us went there Thursday night last week. It was quite full but we liked the atmosphere and liked the cheerful young people serving us. The food was great, made you feel the good kind of full, and they all arrived timely. The price was fair considering the generous size and content.

All and all, we had a great night. The four of us will definitely come back and spread the word.

Being in Maroubra and not being right along the coastal shop front strip would be the only thing holding this place back. Because when it comes to really flavoursome spanish style Tapas at a really reasonable price El Toro has that in the bag.

The decor in the restaurant is sharp and very clean and if you want to soak up the beach suburb feel they have a great little courtyard on the footpath that really puts you amongst it.

The staff are a young crew of exceptionally well mannered and efficient people, that make sure no matter where you sit the food comes out at a steady pace, which is a change from many tapas places now that throw it all at you at once.

The food was excellent, with genuine hand made texture coming through in nearly all the dishes. The price, BYO always helps but to walk away with a $50.00 food bill well and truly full with that quality of food, great value in my book.

We will definitely be back, I'm sure these guys will do really well, definitely worth a go, I really doubt you will be disappointed.

We went there for dinner and I ordered the BBQ chicken and the Garlic Prawns Pizza. As for salad, we had the Greek salad. We thought they were very yummy, good appearance, and real gourmet pizza, which is always a good thing!

The service was decent too, the staff were friendly. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience for me, and definitely will come back again.

Walk into El Toro at 7.10, order by 7.30, receive part of the meal by 8.10 and not receive it all. All my other friends had received their meals had eaten and completed, during this I inquired where the rest of our meals were, asked continuous waiters about our meals that hadn't come yet and I received no reply on two accounts, decided that the best way to get what I wanted was to go to the front counter to get my meal, when at the counter talked to one person and they palmed me off to someone else who had no idea what I was going on about, and then when I finally got in contact with someone who could give me the answers my meal had been sitting on the counter waiting quite awhile, I was politely told by one gentlemen that they were under staffed but he was not helpful. Was not offered a take away option as they were just going to bring it to the table, I saw my food asked for it take away, food was not worth the money or the wait.
