I'll begin with that this was not my party but a friend of mine and that they paid a room hire fee for having their engagement party here. When I arrived, my friends were upset and annoyed with the service they were getting and I offered to sort it out (as I work in the industry) so it wouldn't ruin their night. This is the experience.

No staff member came into the rooms to clear away empty glasses for the first 1hr. They would not have come in if I had not asked for a staff (which I had to ask for 2 times). He was, to his credit very friendly and helpful. He also said that they couldn't get into the room because there was too many people. I told him that I had no trouble moving around the room offering food to guests when I said 'excuse me'. Please note that I only knew about 5 of the 60 odd guests at this party and some people mistook me for a staff member.

There was a garbage bin full of empty bottles at the front of the entrance to the room and about 10 flattened cardboard beer cases were piled behind the bin. I suggested to the staff that this wasn't really attractive and it was removed about 10mins later but really, it should never have been there in the first place. The bar staff were unhelpful and rude. I asked for napkins so I could serve the food to the guests (because they dumped the trays on the tables) and she gave me bathroom paper towels! eww! When I asked for actual napkins, she straight out sighed at me and told me 'that I would have to wait' and went onto serving another customer on the other side of the bar.

The bar is double sided and our function was on one side and the other was for general patrons. My friends put on a bar tab for all the guests and we would literally have to ask for service because all their attention was going to the other bar. Waiting time was (at times) 5mins but if you went to the other side it would be no less than 1min. All in all a bad experience. Thankfully the guests made the night pleasurable.
