Great Lebanese food, we have been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. You can't go past the mixed plate for $15, fresh, tasty and plenty of it. The decor isn't the greatest so if its fine dining you're after its not for you, there are only about 6 tables so sometimes you may have to wait if you don't have a booking.
Bottom line - great food, great service, Excellent value.

This is the best value old school no fuss Lebanese fare. Order the large mixed plate and share with another person and thats 7.50 a plate and you will be happy. Tender meat, fresh tabouli, decor is not much to look at but for value and fare you can't go wrong.

Bang for your Buck the Best Lebanese food I have tasted. Worth the drive and the less than pretty Haldon St. The whole family loves the place and we have been regulars for many years.

I highly recommend this place if you're having one of those days where you can't really bother to dress up and dine but want great food thats also cheap. I went there for late lunch last sunday and was greeted by the owner who was warm and welcoming. I ordered the mixed plate and everything on it was so fresh and tasty.
Even the tabouli had so much flavour which was a first for me coz everytime ive had it its usualy bitter. The felafel balls were incredible! They were crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Me and my boyfriend shared the plate and it was enough for both of us. Had such a great food adventure here. Will definitely come back!

Small humble place, but excellent food and warm service. If you're about dining to be seen don't bother, just stick to your overpriced, at best, average food dining experience. I trust El Manara won't change its approach, keep up the good work fella's.

Pound for pound, this is the best lebanese food I have tasted in Sydney. Al Manara is a tiny, unpretentious place that is all about good value and great food rather than presentation or decor. Other restaurants are fancier and prettier, but I doubt the actual taste will surpass this little place.
The hummus is beautifully light, airy, flavoursome, and fresh. All the meat dishes are superb, and the portions are generous. You can literally eat a full meal for less than $12 dollars. Amazing. Of course, the only downside is that it is a trek for those who live in the eastern suburbs/north shore.

We love this restaurant and travel from the Blue Mountains to enjoy their wonderful honest and fresh fare. The surroundings and service are humble and welcoming. Just wish we lived closer so that we could enjoy their hospitality more often.

I have been a regular customer for almost 12 years now and I never leave unsatisfied. Very small but it's all about the food in the end. Being a proud Aussie of Lebanese extraction, we always compare our Leb food to that of our mothers. Don't tell he I like the food at El Manara a bit more.
Friendly service and great value. While Lakemba isn't the prettiest suburb in Sydney, it is well worth the treck. See you soon.
