Good parking discounts for customers in CBD. I came with my family and we orders many dim sums from the trolleys. The steam dumplings are healthy and tasty, pork buns are hot and delicious.

Busy Yam Cha period, but the food are worth to wait! I like the Dim Sum trolleys, just like the buffet and choose what you like.

I have dined here several times and have really enjoyed the Yum Cha. Essentially, the food is well-priced, presented and prepared. I would go back and would encourage others to go as well.

Everything about this restaurant is aweful but the worst is the service the waitresses/waiters are so grumpy, rude. I waved for a waitress she saw me looked and at and just turned the other way, then I tried another and she said something in chinese and also walked away! I mean what the hell! They seem to all have something up! The food all tasted like Msg loaded and the same, it was oily and boring. Wouldn't go there again!

This has to be the Worse Chinese restaurant that I ever had the pleasure of dining at in Sydney.

We came here for a Yum Char lunch last Wednesday. In the hour we were there, there was only a very small selection of dim-sums dishes being offered. Hence, the same old boring food kept coming around every ten minutes or so. Their waiter service was terrible. No-one came around to refill our Chinese tea pots unless we physically requested them to. This is despite the usual tradition of placing the lid over the tea pot opening. All the men waiters seemed grumpy and unsmiling! Moreover, the quality of the food seemed no better than below average.

The place seemed so unprofessionally run. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a nice enjoyable Yum Char lunch in Sydney. There are many more better Chinese restaurants nearby to cater for that!

We used Groupon for a yum cha experience here. This is the most awful yum cha experience I had in my life (had many yum cha as a Cantonese speaking Chinese).

The food was ok but the service was terrible. Obviously they do not want to offer any service as we waved at them numerous times and the waiters and waitress simply ignored us. I have been to The Eight for dinner once but have not been here for yum cha before. Not sure if this service level is their standard or it is what we get by using a voucher.

I will not go back to this restaurant again regardless. Management needs to check if there is a staff problem cause this unwilling to provide any service is across the board. Even their toilet is full of really long toilet papers on the floor everywhere. Certainly trying to use Groupon as an advertising media is not smart when the place is poorly managed.

Rainy night - Marigold was full, so we thought we'd give this restaurant a go. Unlike traditional Chinese restaurants, they seem to struggle if you want to order a not unusual Chinese meal that isn't on the menu. In this case, we wanted hotpot fish fillet with vermicelli in XO sauce. Quite straight forward, but it took a lot of time before they finally agreed (the lady behind the counter had to decide on a price).

The other dish we ordered was scallop with snow peas. When the food came, it was lovely, but it wasn't enough. We decided to order more, this time just something straight off the menu.

We asked for the food to be cooked with a little less oil but the man who took our order started yelling at us about how the chef has 21 years of experience. This was us?! What's that got to do with anything. This uncomfortable exchange lasted for a few more minutes while we tried to explain that we just wanted less oil, but the man continued to yell at us about the chef's experience, and how we can't argue with that.

Eventually, realising what he was saying, he decided to acknowledge the baby on the table, just by saying 'the baby'. We thought this was in effort to back track on his utter unprofessionalism and silliness (the baby was peacefully asleep). Irate, we decided to not go ahead with the order.

Again, probably realising his mistake, he served us more free dessert than usual. Instead of just fruits, we were served little cakes and coconut-y smelling soup.

However, the final slap on the face was when the bill came and despite only ordering two dishes and one rice, we were paying way too much for Ok food and atrocious service.

Upon arriving, we thought the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the menu books look nice. Alas, the damage has been done and we will not be returning.

Its my first time coming to The Eight for Yum Cha, the food is modern fushion yum cha style. There are some dishes that I have not seen at other restaurant. The food is so fresh, and some of the food is made as we ordered.

Came here on a rainy weekend and was really surprised. I had dined here around 5 years ago and enjoyed it and I wasn't disappointed. We put in a special room, with a large group and a group of 3.

Food came around quickly and everything was fresh. The only thing that ruined my dining experience was the diners in the group of 3. More worried about arguing the bill the large group left and we left quickly as well. Was so surprised how cheap it was. 20 a head for so much food! Can't wait for another rainy weekend so I can head back!
