Omg what a rip off!

This place is basically a function hall that is open for the public. Mass produced, over-priced, tasteless food with little to no ambience. I am not sure how they manage to stay open but I suspected it is because of how much they charge you for what they serve.

My guess at their strategy is that they know you're never going to go back there again so they might as well rip off you while they can.

Stay away from it!

Go for the view! Great to be sitting on a summer's night overlooking the Harbour from a different angle.

Food was very good, we had the Whole Snapper special and Mulloway fish fillets, both were very good. It is a bit pricey, for 2 main courses, 1 dessert, and some drinks, the total came to $132.

Service was reasonable, very smooth at the start of the evening, but found a little more difficult to get attention to get the bill at the end of the night.

Attentive service. The bruschetta was disappointing, the bread did not seem to have been toasted, so the tomato was almost making the bread soggy. Not much garlic or basil to be found. It tasted like chopped tomato on white sliced bread. The s.p calamari was a generous size. My fellow diners rated their steak and duck dishes as good. Good value but give the bruschetta a miss.

Congratulations to Ecco ! We recently organised a school function for 45 young ladies and their fathers, and we would personally like to thank Claude and his staff at Ecco for being so accommodating to our needs especially at such short notice where as other venues were not willing to do so. The views are lovely, there was an abundance of food, service was great, amazing value for money and most importantly the girls had a wonderful night! Cheers to you Ecco...

Went there for a school event and was asked to pay $8 for a beer, surely they must be kidding! Food is Ok but service needs improvement.

We really enjoyed our evening at Ecco. Loved all the food, some real Italian classics done with a twist, we had zucchini flowers stuffed with potato and mozzarella (yum!) gnocchi with prawns and cream (melt in your mouth!) and eggplant involtini stuffed with pesto pasta (delicious). The service was good and the atmosphere was buzzy and the view is lovely. For us this restaurant is off the beaten track, which we really appreciate and will definitely go back.

Eight of us had a dinner there last night. Food nicely presented and overall good and tasty; I had a nice tender duck,but it was really over salted (to my taste). Mains are overpriced for portions offered, plastic chairs and tables covered with white paper (although table cloth is underneath, the paper spoils the experience.). Too noisy and overcrowded;too many tables, hard to negotiate in between; you can't hear at all background music they have on. Service was attentive with an amateur style;attendants rush you all the time;only one jar of water for a table of 8, it's a joke/no waiter is easy to call over there coffee $4, mains $32-$35; a piece of cake$14.Beverages/wines are overall overpriced; poor offer of wines and beer. Would I go again? No.

Recently attended a party at Eccos and thought the place was great. Foods was delicious, view is nice and service very good. Didn't have to pay for lunch so can't really comment on the prices. Will be back.

Average. Would have been a top restaurant in the 80's but now it looks tired, mass produced and boring. The produce is not particularly fresh. The service is good as are the views. The wine list is again pretty dated. Wait times are long. This is the sort of location that could be anything with a bit of effort. I'd run the razor over the kitchen staff and start again.

My family went to Ecco for my birthday last year. I requested a table near the windows with a view of the water and was happy to be seated there even though the restaurant was packed when we arrived. I was surprised to see a lot of small children there as the menu doesn't seem to cater for kids. I don't eat seafood or pork or I found it hard to find something I would like but went with a rocket and parmesan salad and beef fillet, both were fantastic.

The meat was cooked perfectly well done as I asked but still tender. Very good portion sizes, we left feeling like we wouldn't eat again for a week. The dessert (chocolate pudding I think..) was amazing, I couldn't finish it though. The staff were very friendly and knew the menu and wine list well. I wanted a sweet wine which only comes by the bottle but they were very nice and said I could have it by the glass instead as I was driving home.

I would definitely recommend this place for the food, the atmosphere, the view and the service.
