We used scoopon to make a booking few weeks/mths ago at 6pm. Food was below average and really small! Most importantly, the table sit next to us, they order the same things as we did (they don't have scoopon). The size is much much bigger. I was so unhappy with this. If the senior staff does not honour people who use coupon, he should not do this promotion! seriously.

We went with a Scoopon last night. Despite the coupon expiring a couple of weeks ago, they had an extension as they could not accommodate in the allocated time all diners and were happy to make a booking for us on our preferred night.
Restaurant is very small with limited seating but we were placed outside on plastic table and chairs and we were happy to watch the traffic and pedestrians go by for entertainment.
Our waiter was Amazing! A packed restaurant but he was like a blowfly buzzing from table to table making sure everyone was happy without being overbearing. Funneeee man!
The food - There were four of us dining so we opted to share starters. Bread with 3 dips and the Mixed Meats starter were good choices. Main course - 2 x eye fillet with potato and parsnip mash, 1 x Crisp Skin Salmon and 1 x Spaghetti. Requests for rare beef + seared salmon were spot-on and the salad with the salmon a perfect choice. The potato and parsnip mash creamy with the jus was so good.
The salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth. The spaghetti with meatballs looked great (he would not share)! All diners felt they were winners with their choices.
Dessert - a choice of two desserts. The ladies ooooohed over the summer berry parfait (mascarpone was amazing!) but the guys thought their Mango and Passionfruit trifle scored 10/10.
Beers, wine and cocktails were not included in the coupon but we were happy to pay the extra to have our choice of beverage.
I had to visit the bathroom which is located a couple of doors up the street, down the stairs, first door on the left. Was given the key attached to a large metal spoon (can’t lose this one). I give restaurants points for how clean their bathrooms are and again they got 10/10.
Again well done guys! I left my reading glasses on the table and a frantic call later that night from home to see if they had picked them up had to be made. Fortunately, they had which means we will have to make a trip back to try their breakfast menu!

Went to Ecabar for a casual dinner with my wife. Really enjoyed the venue and the food, beer and wine selection. For cafe dining the service was excellent. We'll be back. Soon.

Solid, food was done quite well and service was attentive. Fair value and relaxed atmosphere despite the hubbub of the street and traffic it looks onto.

Two of us dined here using a scoopoun voucher. We ordered the mushroom bruschetta for the starter and it was delicious. For the mains we ordered the lamb and the salmon. The lamb was nice and perfectly cooked but the salmon was just ordinary.
The berry dessert was the highlight of the evening, it was very nice. The value using the voucher was great but paying full price would be a little bit pricey for what you get imho.

We had a discount voucher and were one of the first couples to visit Ecabar after the promotion.
Basically, everything was not bad, service was good and friendly and nice enough location and ambience. The voucher was a good deal and we had a share cheese platter to start, the lamb and steak for main and a couple of desserts.
The cheese platter was pretty bog standard to be honest, a simple offering with 2-3 cheeses and some nibblies. Nothing special but then nothing wrong with it either. The lamb and steak mains were not particularly impressive though. The steak was ok, normal steak you would get from a pub. The lamb rump was undercooked. Accompaniments were ok and nothing to worry about, but not inspiring either.
Desserts were very unimpressive. My 'parfait' just tasted like whipped cream/creme fraiche with some fruit puree, and I believe it was just that. Wholly unimpressive and uninspiring and to be honest, it felt like I was just eating calories for the sake of it.
Wine list was good, but the glasses we got were certainly not normal measures.
I think Ecabar will struggle with the vouchers to be honest...not only to fulfill numbers that were bought but also to maintain any level of quality that will get people to come back again.
All in all, good (not great) value with the voucher. I would have been very disappointed to pay full price. I think they have the potential to do better and the staff and very welcoming, but they definitely need to pull their socks up in quality for the prices they are charging or reduce their prices. I have given ratings based on an average between how I felt with the voucher and how I would have felt paying full prices.

Our absolute favourite little spot for a Sunday breakfast. Everything we have tried on the menu is super fresh and delicious, some of the options have an interesting twist on old favourites, the specials are awesome too and coffee is superb. Service is fast and friendly and like the previous reviewers have mentioned, a great place to watch the world go by. We came once on a Sat evening and had a lovely time having some wine, beer and a light meal.

Been here quite a few times for breakfast and brunch and on Saturday evening was walking past and saw it turns in to a wine bar in the evening. Decided to give it a go and we were glad we did. I went with the cottage pie and my partner went with the prawn pasta (on the waiters recommendation). Both dishes were really good and the staff very forthcoming with ideas for matching wines and they obviously know their stuff. Overall a very chilled, funky night spot that I think will become very popular very quickly!

Our local brunch cafe for Saturday morning. Food is fresh (finally a cafe that does a reasonably priced chicken salad). Coffee and juices are both great. Lamb is delicious. I think I've had everything on the menu now. Haven't been for dinner before. Love watching the craziness walk by all morning.
