Great pub, excellent food and very friendly ambience. Go here when visiting Enmore Theatre, food always of a high standard and staff always friendly and welcoming.
This is our local pub, which has undergone new management, and one of the best in the entire Enmore/Newtown scene. The food is consistently good, with larger portions and well priced. Also boasts the best fireplace and outdoor chimeneas. The staff are also friendlier in recent times and really helpful. Always have a great time here. Kilts welcome.
Had the pork belly, it was what I expected, my other friends felt their food was ok. Reasonably priced, decent size, and nice but smallish inside/outside area to eat at the back. Would come back to try something else.
I went here Sunday evening and got the perfect seat in front of the fire place. The Staff were friendly and the food was divine. I can highly recommend the Pork Belly.
Went here late on Friday night to play Buck Hunter with my friend. The front bar was too busy so we went to the back and played pool. We had one drink, then I ordered another and returned to the table and put some money in the pool table. Then one of the bar attenders walked through and yelled last drinks (could they not have told me when I ordered the drink?).
So about 15 minutes later we were hurried up on our drinks and told to leave. We were not allowed to finish our game of pool, nor get our money back (come on 'Duke' it's only three bucks to keep your customers happy).
Bad service, won't be back until it's sold and under new management (shame really because it's just around the corner from where I live).
First time at the Duke for a long, long time. Bar staff need attitude change and that will happen. Had a great meal, a good beer in good company, no place is perfect and I eat and drink in a lot of different pubs. I'd buy the Duke if I could!
This was our local pub for a while but after several bad experiences, I won't be back. The food is terrible and over priced for what you get. I saw someone ahead of me order fish and chips, the waitress then turned around and got 3 frozen sticks of fish out of the fridge (no gloves) and handed them to a chef who then handed them to another chef, great!
The staff are rude and too cool to even say hello. The lady who seems to be in charge is worse than all of them. Don't put a sign up advertising friendly staff if you can't follow through. Best head up the road to somewhere else which has a new menu and a great courtyard.
