I went back to the pub after a change of management and the vibe has improved alot. The food has improved and the locals are coming back. Love the fire!

This is the worst pub I have ever been to in my entire life. I came here on a Sunday to try it out, I was the only person in the pub, they ace of bass playing really loud. I went out to the bistro, there was nobody around, so I had to get the bartender to get the chef to come out. They didn't have alot on the menu, So I ordered something basic, he comes out with the wrong food and doesn't even bring cutlery or a serviette. They don't have a great selection of beer either, they only have 4 beers available. I won't be back, even if you paid me.

Dirty soulless and expensive, this once great piece of Newtown history. Under new management the place is loud and empty and at $4.80 a schooner I think it will stay that way.

The food gets an 8 from me, I had the most delicious steak there this week which was cooked just as I ordered and was lovely and juicy and charred, but my partner said his piri piri chicken burger was pretty dull, so I'm averaging the score out. They used to do a really good mixed grill there, but that seems to have dropped off the menu.
Ambience gets at 10 on Tuesday nights in winter. Reta's trivia is hilariously entertaining and the open fire is just lovely. Fix up your burgers, bring back the mixed grill and otherwise keep up the good work!

Dined here for the second time on Saturday night, we had the 350gr Sirloin, the hamburger, salt and pepper squid and lamb cutlets. One word, superb. Everything was cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed his steak so much, he went and personally thanked the chef and shook his hand. Sounds a little over the top I know but the steak was like butter, so tender and seasoned perfectly. Its a great little unassuming pub, don't change a thing guys.

Service and value is great, the staff are always super friendly and genuine. Amazing specials = $6.96 Fish & Chips on Fridays (all day), is the best!

Had dinner here last night, a Wednesday night. My partner and I both ordered the Grilled Barramundi, which was cooked perfectly. The ambience is ok, the back dining areas could do with better dining, as it look a bit gloomy. The outdoor area has too many big tables in such a small area. Other than that though a good pub.

Just had my birthday celebration at the Duke. Big ups to Narelle for making it such a great night. The staff were all very friendly, and my steak was fan-bloody-tastic. Book 'em for a party, you won't be sorry.

This is our local pub, which has undergone new management, and one of the best in the entire Enmore/Newtown scene. The food is consistently good, with larger portions and well priced. Also boasts the best fireplace and outdoor chimeneas. The staff are also friendlier in recent times and really helpful. Always have a great time here. Kilts welcome.
