Great experience so far for me and my friends who regularly go there once a fortnight. Like all restaurants, pick the right dishes and you will have an enjoyable meal. Since I have tried almost all dishes, these are my suggestions.
Chicken Satay, Belacan Kang Kung, Sambal Eggplant, Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang with Roti, Hainan Chicken Rice which is only available on Saturdays.

Definitely worth going to and try.

My friends and I have visited and we were impressed so we thought we give it a good review here. As I have read the past recent reviews, I really beg to differ as everyone is entitled to their own opinions. We really like the food in Drunken Geisha, especially the rendang and curry and think they have done a great job. Would we recommend our friends? You bet we will.

Reasonably attractive in appearance, I liked the wallpaper. Slightly cramped and busy but that can be nice. After eating the first bite of my "steamed" dumpling entrée, however, I wondered, why is everybody else here? Every dish, with the exception of the Beef Rendang tasted blatantly frozened then microwaved. I was with a party of three and most dishes were left untouched.

The aforementioned Rendang was of fair quality but a small serving, which as nothing else was edible became an issue. The Salt and Pepper Squid had spent not quite enough minutes in the microwave and was of a similar consistency to a sausage roll. The Kapitan Chicken Curry was straight from the supermarket Kantong shelf (apologies to Kantong). Cost $70 so at least they have some shame and did not charge the earth but if ever I meet someone who works there, you owe me a drink or two.

Make sure you have dinner before you come to Drunken Geisha. They are far away from Malaysian food "so they claim". This is not malaysian. The quantity and quality of food were very disappointing. Beef Rendang signature dish had 4 pieces of beef swimming in curry (it should be dry) and 7 pieces of thinly slice chicken these are main course dishes came in entree size dishes. Never again!

Had an enjoyable Friday night dinner with a group of friends in this super chic restaurant. Highly recommended, though to make an advance booking especially on their weekend dinner as it is usually packed. The front manager was very accomodating and managed to fit us in. We had several of their signature starters and main dishes. Their salt & pepper squid was very nice with its flavour and slight tinge of spiciness. went with chicken satays and dim sum as well. all got the thumbs up from us.

For the mains, we had the char kway tiaw, belacan kangkung, their signature curry chicken & beef rendang and sambal prawns. don't forget the roti canai when you order these curries. Yummy...You can customise your char kway tiaw to be cooked extra spicy (which we did) or non-spicy to your specs. Everyone in the group were satisfied with the delicious food choices. Staff was very attentive thorughout the night, considering a busy night they had. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner experience and would definitely be back for more. Highly recommended.

Went in here after walking around harris st looking for a place to have lunch. From outside, one couldn't tell if the place was open if not for a small "open" sign at the door.

My friend and I both decided on laksa's and a pot of tea. It's nice to go to a restaurant that brings out a proper pot of tea instead of a cup of hot water with a tea bag charged at $3. The laksa's were ok, although not as creamy and spicy as I would have liked. I felt like they held back on the chilli's. Some chilli flakes or fresh chilli on the side would have been nice. Also, halfway through our meal a small cockroach ran onto our table. My friend blew it away before it could get to our food.

The staff came around to see what the commotion was. They apologised and explained that they had just had fumigation done. No harm done, we continued with our meal.

Afterwards we thought we'd have some desserts but there were only 3 dessert options in the menu. 2 traditional items (sago and red bean cake) and banana fritters. None of these appealed to us so we decided to go to chocolateria san churro in glebe.

All in all, it was ok. Have definitely had much, much better laksa elsewhere. I was a little disappointed considering this was a singaporean/malaysian restaurant and the laksa was weak. Decor was very nice and service was attentive.

We recently had a Saturday night dinner here and things have definitely changed. The Squid was soggy and while the curry was just Ok, the alleged Satay was not good. The service was slow and the whole experience was pretty poor.

My boyfriend and I were so impressed with our new discovery! We have gone back twice already. It's only a tiny little place but that's what makes the atmosphere and ambience so special. Food was delicious and we were surprised at how little we ended up paying. Make sure you book though because, like I said, the place is tiny.

A very good malaysian restaurant. The hainanese chichen rice, fish curry and sambal prawn were the best. Very good value and acquires good reviews
    and so it should.
