Set in a great location, but let down by the fact they would not let us sit outside (tables were not plated).

Service started really well and meals started coming out quick. But then without notice our ribs did not come out (had to ask waiter then he told us), then our dessert of red bean and rice balls seemed to take a while.

The dumplings and main chicken stir fry were pretty good and full of flavour. We also got sang choi bow chicken which was ok. Pricey because of its location, but they could really do with some better standard of service to match.

We dined here after purchasing a voucher. The decor was outstanding and so was the view. Thats where the pleasantries end. We ordered pink lemonade and got lemonade with a drop of red food die. Was not expecting that. Our dishes came out very slowly even though not even a quarter of the restaurant was full. Most of the dishes we ordered were great as good as chinatown but the prices were just incomparable.

I'm pretty sure they forgot how many courses they had presented to us and had to inform management we haven't received our 6 dishes. Everything was fixed swiftly. In saying that, I would not dine here as full price paying customer. The prices are just too pricey for yum cha. Take a 20 minute walk and you'll find plenty for half the price.

We also got our hands on a voucher and, through solid due diligence, had built up an expectation for this place that revolved around poor service, being ripped off, small serving sizes and, worst of all for a Yum Cha restaurant, a lack of chilli sauce. On reflection the chilli sauce issue took a couple of attempts to get rectified, but otherwise the Dragon Boat experience was pretty smooth sailing... (apologies).

As Yum Cha vets we knew we were in for poor service but solid fare, as is the standard in this particular niche of Sydney dining. We weren't disappointed, although the service was, surprisingly, above the normal Yum Cha level. Firstly, the bloke acknowledged our existence (definitely not the norm for most Yum Cha restaurants - of which we have seen the inside of many) and secondly he has a 66% strike rate in responding to all non-bill related requests (about 63% higher than most other Yum Cha joints).

All in all we had a pretty solid meal. We walked in there expecting a culinary massacre but walked out full of pretty decent Yum Cha and a fair serving of humble pie. Maybe the negative publicity has done the trick and they're rectifying the situation, and to borrow some lyrics off someone I don't really know, if this place is bad I don't want Yum Cha to be good.

Came here for Yum Cha lunch on Chinese New Year Day with a group of about 18 people on two tables. True to many of the other reviews here, Dragonboat is well below par, which, sadly, seems typical of most of the Harbourside restaurants.

Yum Cha is ordered off a menu rather than off a trolley. The place does not appear to be well patronised, even accounting for a Monday lunch.

Food servings are small as noted by other reviewers, prices relatively high, service is relatively poor. For example, they provided a single tiny bowl of Chinese style Chilli sauce for a table of 9. We asked for another, which we received *after* we had finished our meal. Not really useful at that point... Some orders appeared forgotten altogether and were cooked up after we reminded them to bring the rest of the dishes. Tables are not provided with lazy susans, so passing he Yum Cha dishes around is a chore.

All in all a thumbs down lunch, a sentiment shared by all our diners on this occasion. Would not return.

I recently purchased a scoupon for this restaurant. It is indeed true that like a few restaurants that manipulate the coupon selling platform, they did not fully disclose the fact the menu is limited to 6 of the cheapest items on the menu. Quality wise, it is subjective. But it is no different to that found in chinatown restaurants. Just placed in nicer looking chinaware and in nicer looking furniture.

Pricewise of the items, they are definitely overpriced if you intend to order anything which I assume most people as the portions while not minute, are not necessary sufficiently sized as per normal orders. The restaurant does seek to differentiate coupon customers from the rest by placing ornaments on the table.

Service may be odd, in that they come out whichever cooks fastest, not necessary entree items, main then dessert and drinks may not come first and when asked, the service staff will simply say, its another person or another part of the restaurant and they don't know.

What is not true for a saturday is that the restaurant only allocates 3 tables. There was a paper filled with scoupon booking customers, around 10 but the restaurant definitely limits the bookings and almost all customers observed were using vouchers.

Pricewise, expect to pay a 80 to 100% more than what one would expect at a chinatown restaurant.

This is average quality yum cha with a good view. The dishes themselves are tasty (and not OTT with oil or Msg) with some scrimping in quantity. The spring rolls for instance tasted fantastic but there was only 2/3 the usual quantity.

It is expensive though if you don't have the Scoopon 50% off voucher. And the service, well that has a lot to be decided. They do not seem able to answer simple questions like whether or not, for instance, prawn is in the dish. If you can put up with all of that, it is a fairly good experience.

I went for yumcha using the coupon by scoopon, 6 dishes, can only order AU$6.8 or less value. That's fine, I can deal with it. The view was good.

While you were booking they claimed it's fully book. We begged our place there, only find out that other 3 tables are occupied and the rest is empty. Shocking that they can make up this to keep you away from using the coupon. Actually most restaurant using coupons are doing that.

When the dish is brought on, the first sentence out of my mouth was "is this a joke"? We ordered red bean sticky rice ball. It has only 1 inside of the pathetic little amount of soup. For those tiny little sprint rolls, they only have 2 for each plate.

And they charge your for AU$ 6.8. Will not go back again Ever! If you can avoid them, do so.

We also had a seven-course banquet and two glasses of wine for $69 for 2 with living social voucher last night. It was Friday night and overall we enjoy the atmosphere and harbour view but not food and service at all.

Bejing duck - Beijing duck is to enjoy its skin with juicy oil, thinly cut fresh green onion and yummy sweet sauce wrapped with thin pancake. However, it was without yummy skin oil, green onion wasn't cut thin, and it came with thicky meat with bland sauce.

Duck mince on lettuce was again bland that makes us think the duck they cooked was cheap and low quality. Prawn dish was surprisingly tasteless and prawns they used was small. Fried rice was another flavourless dish and at this point we couldn't believe that the restaurant was headed by an award winning kitchen staff. Scallop dish was good and savory. Beef was tender and sauce was ok.

Service was good with welcoming smiles on their faces and waiters were also polite compared to other Chinese restaurant but it was deteriorated by two unacceptable services during our dining. We were surprised that a waiter took our half-left-dish away without asking us. In fact, we were still eating it. And, we didn't receive the seventh dish (dessert) even after waiting for 20 minutes. Waiters knew we had finished all dishes on the table and it wasn't busy night. But it seemed like they were waiting for us to leave.

In fact, it didn't really matter about the dessert because we were already disappointed by the dishes so we just left without saying anything. With that level of food quality it's definitely not worth $140, that says on the voucher.

The experience we had in this restaurant were nicely presented top-quality-Look dishes with beautiful interiors and harbour views but without Real Taste and consistent services. We could not believe this restaurant is claiming that it is headed by an award winning kitchen staff.

We bought a voucher from LivingSocial for this place which included a seven course banquet and a glass of house wine each, usually valued at $140. We were more than disappointed. These vouchers are meant to give the restaurant publicity and make you want to return. We will Never return there!

It started off well with a beautiful duck pancake, but was all downhill from there. To top it off they finished the meal with dessert, two scoops of home brand neapolitan ice cream, need I say more!

So surprised at the below reviews. This place was great! It's more upmarket than most Chinese restaurants, but fantastic! We had a voucher for a seven-course banquet and all seven courses were amazing.

Brought to our table on our personal small cart, prepared by smiling staff and dished out accordingly, left us feeling like kings (so rare for voucher-redeeming restaurants).

The food itself was fresh. The mince in lettuce leaves was savoury and warm. The prawns and scallops tasted like they were just off the boat from the fish markets and the fried rice was fluffy.

Beef in black bean usually means heartburn for my partner, but he cleaned the plate without complaint. Even the neapolitan icecream served for desert was simple but lovely.

Could not fault the restaurant, the staff or the views. Highly recommended.
