Parking Suggestions
We have a small car park to the rear of the restaurant, street parking is also available nearby.
Doyles on the Beach was first established in 1885 & was originally known as the Ozone Cafe. Sitting right on the waters edge of Watsons Bay we have magnificent views of Sydney Harbour. The view at sunset with the citu skyline forming a dramatic backdrop is magical.
With both indoor & outdoor dining the restaurant is internationally known for serving the best & freshest seafood.
Children are welcome and are catered for.

Wanting to take our visitors from interstate somewhere special for sunday lunch, an obvious choice was Doyle's on the beach Watson's Bay. What a disappointment! What has happened to Doyle's? Do they not care about repeat business from locals?
Because we will never take our ourselves or guests there again. In a nut shell it is horrendously overpriced (they also even add a weekend surcharge of $5 per person) the wine is expensive although average? The food is disappointingly ordinary, badly cooked and not good quality.
All in all a really disappointing experience. Locals keep away and tourists beware! I wonder if Doyle's think they are above reading these reviews!

Sun 11-3-2012. It was absolutely terrible. The salt and pepper squid was dried up (had obviously been cooked and kept in a bain marie-plus it was barely warm). My Tuna was a mass of sinews and totally inedible, I told the waitress (who I must say was lovely) she said she would tell the senior staff but of course didn't hear anything.
We paid the bill $210 for 2 (including 2 beers and a bottle of wine+plus a $20 tip for the waitress, hope she didn't share with the kitchen!. Oh I forgot to mention the dreadful, "Old fashioned chips which came straight from the supermarket freezer! This place is only for the tourist and no longer for us sydneysiders.

After we received our platter, the young male waiter forgot about us. I had to ask someone else for the sweet menu then again for coffee and Drambuie. Been coming for years but never experienced such neglect.

I have been here sevral times over the past few years and have always had a great meal and the service has always been good, the scenery can only be dimmed by bad weather, on a sunny day it has unbeatable views.

Hadn't been here for years. It's bigger, staggeringly expensive but location is great and food is lousy. In fact, still Sydney's Most Overrated Restaurant. The service was pretty good. We were in a large party so shared a number of entrees and each had a main. All of it was fresh but just ok, nothing interesting, nothing special, nothing memorable. Seaside fish n chips at about 5 times the price. As usual with Sydney tourist traps, best leave it to the tourists who won't be back.

Was so looking forward to trying this place. Went at lunchtime on Sunday. We ordered Atlantic Salmon, Oyster Mornay and Whiting fish with chips. The Salmon fish came with big and hearty size, but a little bit on the dry side. My boyfriend was pretty disappointed with the down sized oysters which was much bigger before, thanks to the global financial crisis? The whiting fish is ok, well, a little bit more fish will be more welcome. The food, averagely is ok but overpriced. I dont mind to pay, but seems I can't get what I have paid for.

We ordered the 'cold seafood platter', very expensive for lunch, $150 from memory, but it was amazing. The best 'cold seafood platter' in Sydney. We tried the 'hot and cold seafood platter' previously, but not as great. Highly recommend. Don't even consider other mains in their menu if you are a serious seafood lover. It was really really fresh and tasty.

My God what has happened! This used to a fine experience, sadly no longer. It just wasn't enjoyable, food was average, service was very ordinary (had to pour our own wine and ask when our meal would arrive). After the 1'15" wait the food was disappointingly average, so much so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. Oh and the price, please, I don't mind paying, but would like to get what I pay for. I have had better at somewhere else fish and chips! Now that says it all. Sad really.

I'm really surprised at some of the reviews here. My boyfriend and I went to Doyle's last week for our 3 year anniversary and we thought it was great! We had an excellent waiter, all the food was delicious, and we paid $180 total for a bottle of wine, 3 side dishes, and entree each, a main each, and 1 dessert. While this was a pricey night out for us, as far as value goes we certainly weren't disappointed.
And, my main, the cajun spiced barramundi, was totally awesome. Probably the only thing that wasn't that great was the wine, a semillon sauv blanc for $40 that was a bit too sweet for me. But on the whole, a really enjoyable night out!
