Fantastic hidden edgy cafe with delicious gourmet sandwiches (we liked their prosciutto sandwich and also their chicken with garlic mayo) and their interesting take on the affogato, salty peanut gelato instead of plain vanilla icecream adds a great twist.

Just what we have been waiting for in Willoughby, a venue that ooozes style!

I first visited Dose a few weeks back, how could you not, it has been the talk of town since it opened a few Months back. I ordered my usual double shot Latte and it was spot on!

I was also really pleased to find out that they use Digabriel coffee, I used to get my coffee from another local cafe in the area that used this blend but for whatever reason thay changed and I was at a loss!

Foods good, a little pricey but very filling. The car park in the back is awesome as I drive in every morning, grab my "Dose" and head off to work.

Thumbs up to the mastermind behind this cafe, we have been waiting a long time for something like this in our humble town that is Willoughby! Well done.

Food is not this cafe's calling card. We tried the signature crushed avocado and grilled haloumi and pesto spread on toasted sourdough @ $12 and it was nothing special, not to mention a tad steep for what you get. The bacon and egg roll @ $9 is tad overpriced with a little “too” much bacon and 2 over cooked eggs (maybe the bacon is to compensate for the price?).

It's coffee is ho hum and maybe a bit over hyped. Regular coffee @ $3.50 (circa) is market rate. A Short drive away is Bean drinking (Crows nest) where the coffee is far more superior.

To add to it, the service was atrocious. On my 2nd visit I sustained an injury from a dexterously challenged wait staff, who was carrying a large heavy metal based shade umbrella and "accidentally" caught the metal base into my lower back/spine inflicting slight bleeding and bruising. I was not expecting much, maybe an apology? But I didn't even get an apology until the clumsy wait staff had finished setting up the shade umbrella.

The individual's apology wasn't sincere and their offer of a free round of coffee was politely rejected as my back is bleeding bruised and sore. The wait staff member returned a second time with a compensation offering of a choc chip muesli "thing". Thanks but no thanks; an initial genuine and sincere apology would've sufficed.

Ambiance is good as it has a 10 car, car park attached directly to its cafe courtyard. So if you have a little one that needs to be in a pram, it's perfect. The furnishing is an attempt at making things trendy by sitting on stools around huge old cabling spindles. The cutlery is intentionally mis-matched to add to its funkiness (would be nice if it was clean too).

Slight negative is the overabundance of canines as the cafe is neighbours with the vet. So if you don't mind dogs or dog fur wafting around into your food and coffee or dogs barking and sniffing at each other it's ok. Will I return to this establishment? Plain and simply No!
