My hubby and I had dinner here mid-week and besides a company party being held upstairs and another couple in the main room with us, there was no one else around. The place is attractive with very nice views of the water; simple decoration without appearing austere. The staff were quite friendly as well and we were quickly served. The food, while not the best I've tasted for the price, were ok and filling.
Great location and easy parking, this place really has good views of the Harbour Bridge. The outdoors deck was also really great for drinks. The food serves were really small considering the price. The ambience was good, however the DJ was brought in from outside so it's not really theirs to crow about. Service was average with some good waiters and some low ones. The security were rude in kicking people out and spoiled an otherwise acceptable evening.
This restaurant has a nice position and outlook. However, it needs a staff change if it is to improve. The service itself and the manner of the staff is very bad. A shame because the food is quite good and a bit overpriced in some cases.
What a treat to be taken care of by pure professionals who know the importance of clients who spend more than the average person. We dont have a lot of money but we spend well if we are looked after and not just that pasta and water group of twelve say. Absolutely the best in all ways releting to food and service with extra care that goes beyond plate and glass. I for one of many is comming back perhap to book a engagement party. Purely excellent.
I'm sorry to say but my experience at the restaurant was beyond awful. I have not been to a restaurant where I have been treated so badly.
I had booked the private dining room for the night but turned up to the restaurant with my friends being seated in the main restaurant. When i questioned the manager about why we had been seated where we were and not in the private dining room, his response was simply "I'm sorry, I was not aware of this" when HE was the one I spoke to in relation to the booking & met up with when I visited the restaurant to view the place! He said he would make it up to us with a bottle of champagne but we did not see that bottle at all!
To top off the night we enjoyed out night with the worst service ever imaginable. A particular waiter was VERY rude not in only what he said but how he said it. He had even placed the wrong meals in front of the wrong people, but I didn't not hear a single apology come out of his mouth!
The food was good however that does not make up for the INCREDIBLY rude and unfriendly service that my group was offered. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again and with the service which they are providing, I would not be surprised to see it go down the drain!
It was a beautiful restaurant setting but it was THE worse dining experience i've ever had. The waiters were rude (except for one). We were promised the private dining room for my friend's bday (it was confirmed 2 days before hand) and when we got there, apparently they "forgot" and there was another party using that room.
The waiters didn't take our napkins off the table to put on our laps and when they brought the food out, the waiter serving our food told us (in a rude tone) to move our napkins "so i can put the food down". Banging the glasses on the table when pouring our drinks wasn't great either. The food was ok - it probably would have tasted better if the ambience wasn't so tense and awkward. The table was weirdly arranged with a long table with "strips" of table linen spaced out which made it really hard for us to get out of our seats without pulling the cloth with us. Even when we cut the cake, it took them 30 minutes before they brought us back our cake. Tried the snapper and it was pretty bland. I felt more sorry for my friends who ordered the main course tortellini which had like 5 pieces. I feel more bad for my friend whose bday was basically ruined.
I visit Doltone by chance whilst looking for another restaurant. This could and will be Sydney's best in my opinion. I eat out three to four times a week either on business or with family. I was invited to an event in their event space and was very impressed with food, service and theme. Well done!
What a fantastic spot.... the studded lamb. Was simply stunning... flavour and texture divine.. This is what sydney dining has been missing.. great space..great presentation..great prices.. what could be better.
We had a very special table made up for us and it was perfect! Marino, the restaurant manager is a pleasure to deal with. The service here is fantastic all around! The food was excellent, presentation lovely.
Dining in summer outside on the deck seems like it would be amazing, the view is gorgeous, not a part of the city you visit often, which makes it very refreshing.
The balsamic vinegar and olive oil is absolutely amazing! I have never had balsamic like that before. Doltone House is very well-priced, we got a complimentary starter and bread/olive oil/balsamic served by the manager himself.
I was extremely pleased with everything and it made the night that much more special. A delight to dine here! I am sending my workmate there in a few weeks time!
