Recently had our wedding reception at Jones Bay Wharf. All our guests had a great time. The venue is nice, on the water, and the staff were mostly excellent.

The food is presented well, I only had a taste of each course, it was good for mass produced catering style food. (you have to bear that in mind, and not compare it to hatted restaurants that charge a bomb to cook each dish for you individually). Then venue isn't cheap, but then what reception venue is in the city areas, especially one with a nice view.

Overall, we were quite happy with it, and think the pricetag is reasonable for what they provide.

Came here for a wedding reception. Couldn't fault the service staff, they were helpful and friendly. The waiters and waitresses were awesome! The food was disappointing. The entrees so so, the fish main was so dry, it was hardly edible. The steak alternate drop was cold. The dessert was so sour we didn't finish it either. Another wedding was happening on the other side of the partition, and the sound proofing needs improving, because you can hear everything!

Went there for a wedding.

Food: steak was dry and leathery. The fish tasted off. I'm not much of a foodie, and even by my simple standards the food looked nice, but the mains were really badly prepared. The entree and dessert was OK. Canapes were OK.

Ambience: The outdoor drinks session was bad. The view of the harbour is limited. There were no lights so you couldn't see who you were talking to. Inside it was well lit. For this wedding there were several weddings of around 150 each, and we could hear the music from next door. They really need to work on the soundproofing better. Was nicely decorated inside. At least the toilets were clean.

Service: Mains were really slow in coming out, only 50% of tables were asked for coffee after dessert.

Value: I didn't pay for this, but I'm sure it was quite pricey and it wasn't worth it.

Parking across the road was OK.

We went to Doltone House for a wedding bloody awful! First of all, they gave a table of 11 a tiny bowl of Taramasalata and Hommous along with a fake Greek salad which was prepared with green leaves and plenty of red capsicum pretending to be tomatoes.

They served the entree which was 6 baby octopus and 12 pieces of Calamari for whole table of 11! We asked them for another plate but they refused of course. The entree was even served before the bride and groom arrived and before the priest arrived to say Grace, obviously to kick everybody out before 12. This is the best... they served the wedding cake cut into fingers of 8 for a table of 11.

I feel sorry for our relative who paid all that money per head only to have us complain about the poor service and quality. When will Greeks get it that it is not prestigious to have your wedding at doltone house. The view was good, but not for the money they charge.

Good location & a pleasant start with dinks outside. From then on the night went downhill due to Doltone House. Just OK service, terrible food both taste & quantity wise. They saw a chance to do the typical Christmas rip off, fill you with drinks that your boss is paying for & give the cheapest nastiest food they can get away with to make maximum profit! They did that well, shame they can't do catering well.

We had our wedding here recently and everything was brilliant. The food was perfectly done, the staff were excellent, even the wine was good (function wine though not boutique).

You definitely get what you pay for with Doltone. We booked 18 months in advance due to popularity on Saturday's in October and I'm telling you it was worth the wait. Highly recommended.

Food of a good standard but rude and inept staff. As this was a wedding I could never recommend this establishment. Talking to one individual this place has a very high turn over in staff which explains alot.

My hubby and I had dinner here mid-week and besides a company party being held upstairs and another couple in the main room with us, there was no one else around. The place is attractive with very nice views of the water; simple decoration without appearing austere. The staff were quite friendly as well and we were quickly served. The food, while not the best I've tasted for the price, were ok and filling.

Great location and easy parking, this place really has good views of the Harbour Bridge. The outdoors deck was also really great for drinks. The food serves were really small considering the price. The ambience was good, however the DJ was brought in from outside so it's not really theirs to crow about. Service was average with some good waiters and some low ones. The security were rude in kicking people out and spoiled an otherwise acceptable evening.

This restaurant has a nice position and outlook. However, it needs a staff change if it is to improve. The service itself and the manner of the staff is very bad. A shame because the food is quite good and a bit overpriced in some cases.
