Just everything was bad. Toilets filthy, staff non existent and the food was what I would call ordinary and expensive. Don't bother, there are so many great restaurants around here.

Food was really nice and tasty and menu has a really good range of options. We ordered 4 tapas dishes, the creme brûlée and 2 alcoholic drinks which totalled $70 which I think is pretty reasonable. Service was quick, but it was a pretty quiet night.

I've eaten here many times and it is easily one of my favourite places. Every single thing is so delicious! Pork belly! Garlic prawns! Lamb skewers! Those cheese and spinach puff thingys! Churros! Everything!

Service is pretty good, friendly and timely, prices on the expensive side (but worth it for a special occasion), ambience is great as is the decor. Every one should try Different Drummer at least once!

I went here for Valentines Day and had a very enjoyable evening. There was a set menu (which it would have been nice if they had mentioned on the phone when I was booking!). The downside of the set menu was that we were fed more than we would have ordered if left to our own devices - the premium one pays for coming on Valentines Day, I suppose.

Of course, being stuffed full of tapas was hardly a chore. The food was delicious and full of flavour. Not a single dish we picked off the set menu was bad- I enjoyed them all thoroughly.

The service was very good, with waiters being very attentive to keeping our glasses full and ensuring we were enjoying our meal. The food came out very quickly - less than 15 minutes after ordering.

The ambience seemed quite good, the outdoor area in particular is nice. There was music playing but it was unobtrusive for conversation while still providing some atmosphere. My boyfriend thought it had been chosen well.

Did not try the cocktails, but did very much enjoy the "mega jug" of Sangria ordered =P Would definitely go back again with friends!

When my partner and I went here we found 2 long hairs cooked into our dishes (yes thats right 2 dishes with hair in them). When I complained to the senior staff he said "I don't know how they could get in there, our chefs are bald." In other words he was insinuating it was my own hair, which it was not! The food is very very expensive for the quantity, however, it is tasty. The atmosphere was great however the service was slow.

This place is a real find, we enjoyed a lovely evening here last night. The bar is really good and a great way to start a relaxing night out.

The food was excellent, 4 dishes between 2 of us (actually 5 as we had churros also!) was perfect. Recommendations for the garlic prawns and the witlof salad especially. Service was great only thing might be to have one more person waiting.
We will be back!

A little northern beaches oasis of chilled easy-going ambience. An evening at Different Drummer passed too quickly so we'll have to go back. Make sure you order in the tapas style, i.e. drinks, then a couple of dishes, then drinks then a couple more dishes, repeat until sated, otherwise, everything turns up very fast.

The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful without being in your face. The only downside would be that suffered by most Tapas joints in Australia, each plate should be snack sized, not starter sized, and should cost less as a result.

One of my favorite restaurants in Avalon. Great Paella and the service is great. Good for a balcony table in summer and plenty of good sangria.

The tapas here are an unusual size, a bit big (and too expensive) to order a variety of tapas, and too small to have as a meal, as in the Paella, (the large really isn't that large and the small is an odd size). The paella was nice, but not the best I have had. The meatballs were great! as was the chicken. 4 dishes between 2 would be fine and don't fill up on bread.

The atmosphere was great, a lovely indoor area beautiful in winter and a fantastic balcony perfect for summer, the service was good, attentive. The sangria was ok, not the best, but nice. All in all we did have a lovely night and will return but now we have a better idea of serving sizes so know what to order.
