Overview
deepbluebistro, an upscale beachside hide away, has become one of the Eastern Beaches most popular restaurants by integrating Australian native produce with market fresh seafood. Be tempted by creative concepts such as their new Autumn menu and a six course Degustation Dinner. Each dish is matched with regional wines and tasting notes. deepblue offers innovative cocktails, a diverse well-priced menu, with daily specials in a welcoming alfresco environment that is only a 15 minute drive from the CBD and ten minutes from the airport!
This is a place you want to go for special occasions only (so you don't mind the prices too much) Food, drinks, ambience and service are great (10 out of 10) for dinner. You get a feeling prices are excessive when comparing to the other options in the area but I guess it is okay for the quality of the chef.
Visited again just recently taking friends from Melbourne. We hadn't booked so sat outside under heaters and enjoyed entree and the great view until a table became available inside. The interiors of this place are great. The food was equally good. I had the kingfish which was the best I've had ever, hubby had the kangaroo tartare which he said was excellent. Highly recommend this one!
Went here for breakfast as a closer by cafe was too full. I was absolutely amazed by the cosiness of this place, not to mention how friendly the staff were. They even have blankets on each outside chair, if you get a bit chilly! Food was delish! Will definitely become regulars of this one!!
Ordering salt and pepper calamari and receiving barely 1/2 dozen scrolled up pan fried calamari with a side of limp mesclun salad is no where near my idea of value for money. First and last time there... I hate to walk out of anywhere still hungry. What a crying shame with such a gorgeous outlook!
This is a nice, relaxed, casual restaurant. I actually only tried it because I had an Entertainment Book discount voucher, but have returned on several occasions, especially for breakfast. The views are wonderful. I like the look of their evening menu very much. I would especially like to try their outback degustation!
My friend organised a catch up for a quick drink at this gorgeous restaurant. We were only having a cocktail - elderflower pear martini which was simply divine - but ended up staying on for a few more plus oysters and salt and pepper calamari, which is the best I have had in Sydney!! I am so glad to have found this place, it rocks.
We dined here on a Friday night, when the jazz was playing & it was magnificent. The food was innovative (we loved the seafood) the service was excellent, and the decor is really good. My favourite was the bugs which was really filling whilst my husband loved the atlantic salmon. Managed to squeeze in a chocolate torte which was so yummy.
The best restaurant in Coogee (possibly Sydney) with some amazing dishes. Their new menu is divine, a speciality is the Lamb Shanks which are so tender they just fall off the bone. Basil and balsamic on strawberries is courageous and definitely worth taking the risk as they are a fabulous new dining experience. And sitting out on the deck on a warm summers evening just caps off a wonderful meal and fantastic service.
I had the best event ever. My friends and I all went for a swim in the ocean first. Sunday morning brunch, we started at 9am with coffees, toast and fruits. When we found ourselves still there at 11am, we ordered and were served "more coffee and teas of course" and moved into the wonderful eggs with spinach, banana bread with macadamia butter (to die for).
Then the champagne came out and lunch was a delight! We ended up leaving just before 5pm. What a wonderful way to spend Sunday at the beach.
