Nice local eatery. You order the meal at the counter and they bring it over, nothing fancy or complicated. Surprising the food arrived very quickly even though the place was packed. Although I do think the food, which is usually $20+, is quite overpriced for the quality. But they do have specials everyday, which are a good deals such as $15 tuesdays or $10 burger/chips fridays. The place is very lovely and perfect for a family/friends get together but can get a bit noisy when its busy.

I Love this place!
Been here a million times, even held a birthday bash for my husband's 25th birthday and all our friends that came over were extremely impressed with the vibe and look of the place.
The drinks are not particularly cheap and the food can get pricey if you buy something straight off the menu. However, they do have specials for every day of the week which I think make going there much more worth it: 2-for-1 pizzas on Mondays and Thursdays (really good pizzas!), $15 for anything on the menu on Tuesdays, etc. They also have specials for drinks like playing rock-paper-scissors with the bartender at a certain time to get your drink for half off.
Great place, live music on Thursdays is always fun, and I'm sure I'll be back over and over.

Reviewing DYH for the food and the dining experience, all I can say is wow. For a pub, this is probably as good as it gets. The new fitout is beautiful. It is very modern and quite edgy, and as others have pointed out it does have somewhat of a warehouse feel, but I think that aspect is great and gives the place a really spacious and upmarket feel.
The menu is great, even if the place was a stand alone restaurant I'd be impressed but for a pub it's amazing. Probably a perfect mod oz style menu, good offering of pub classics (eg burgers and schnitzels) with a modern, gourmet twist (eg beef burger with a delicious beetroot relish and wedges with homemade aioli), salads, pizzas, seafood, share plates and desserts.
All the food is fairly upmarket and really establishes DYH as a 'gastro-pub'. Think I'm rambling a bit but I really can't get over how great DYH is as a dining venue. Obviously as a pub things do get a bit louder past 9pm, but this place manages to do both the dining and pub experiences fantastically. Love it.

The new Dee Why Hotel is now a world away from the dinge-hole it used to be! You would never believe it was the same place. What an incredibly successful transformation this hotel has undergone - I absolutely love it here now! The fitout and ambience is top-notch - well done DYH, you've pulled it off with flying colours and you've actually brought some class and style back to the beaches.
Drinks: These are reasonably priced and the bar is massive - an attractively constructed circular bar that has service from every side. There is a decent cocktail list and also happy hour on weeknights.
Ambience: Massive space with high ceiling, plenty of lounge areas, a fireplace feature, loads of lounge seating for the restaurant and also semi-outdoor terrace seating - all extremely pleasant and beautifully decorated. As the new DYH appears to be constantly busy on evenings, it can get very noisy but it is a bar after all.
Service: Sometimes a bit lacklustre and complacent...the majority of staff serving in the restaurant area are quite young and perhaps not so into providing service with a smile...
Value: Overall, quite good value. The dishes upon first reading of the menu appeared a little pricey but after trying many of the mains here, I can verify their worth - excellent. A favourite I've gone back for is the barramundi, with the beef rigatoni a close second.
Dee Why Hotel is a great choice for making a night of it, be it with a large group or just a dinner date for two. It's lovely for a meal and also makes a great drinks venue, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when after around 9 or 10pm, the DJ gets cranking and the whole place turns into a huge party hotspot. Check out Saturday nights for international DJ acts. Awesome makeover for DYH, impressive.

Enjoyed a mid week lunch, the barramundi was cooked to perfection crunchy skin and melt in the mouth flesh, partners steak was also flavoursome and cooked to his liking. Will go again soon.

First visit to the new Dee Why Hotel and can I say what a change! I was expecting the old jet club and what I found was a great place to meet for drinks and catch up with friends. The staff are very easy on the eye and make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. A breath of fresh air for Dee Why, well done! I'll be back.

Wednesday night of last week dropped by with a friend for a drink at the new Dee Why Hotel and was suitably impressed. The drinks were great (we had a couple of cocktails), we then decided on a selection of share plates which were fantastic! (Arancini Balls and the olive and prosciutto plate).
For mains we ordered the salmon meal and the lamb dish. Both were of top quality and we polished off both in no time! And the service from the wait staff was 10/10. I would have no hesitation in recommending the New Dee Why Hotel.

Big disappointment, went here 1 week after opening. Nice place but some thing isn't right and I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe was the bessa brick star patter fence around the tables or the lack or color, or maybe the security and management hanging around the bar ogling everyone.
We went for dinner and don't expect to get away by spending under $60 this didn't include drinks, I ordered the lamb and was very disappointing, way to oily and on a fried potato fritter thing and garnished with some green slithers of a tasteless juice with peas in it.
Could only eat about 1/4 of it and wasn't impressed. I told the waiter but was just blown of and told thanks for the feedback. But nothing offered in return for my bad meal. Wife had salad which was ok but everything was way to overpriced. What ever happened to steak and chips and a hamburger.
I can understand what they are trying to do but if you're going to charge the prices they are it needs to be a lot better after all can go down to the beach to a proper restaurant and get a better meal for the same price.
Drinks where ordered off the special cocktail list at the table. Was $14 and it took about 20 mins to come, I got worried when after I went to the bar and ordered my drink they gave me one of those buzzer things that alert you tow when your food is ready.
Never seen these for drinks before, considering we were the only ones I could see ordering cocktails I wasn't impressed 20mins later. This place could really rock but it's bordering prison lunch room feel, there was a great duet band playing over the other side of the bar but we couldn't see from the eating area.
Hopefully the food will improve and they change the menu to more casual fresh style and drop the prices. The bar is fantastic and they serve all 4 sides so you don't have to join a scrum just to get a drink like some places. Hopefully they will try and cozy it up a little and make a little more intimate and while your at it change the menu and pricing.
Response from Management:
Hi Matt, thank you for your opinion and feedback ... Being our first weeks after opening, the hotel was certainly in a launch phase and was in the process of bedding down all food & drink service ... Since opening we have gained alot of constructive and postive feedback and have implemented manly changes including a full menu review. I welcome you to pop in back to the hotel to try us again at your convenience and we'll shout. If you would like to take me up on this offer, please email me personally so I can send you some vouchers at cameron_bayfield@bayfieldhotels.com.au.
