Finally a venue in Dee Why that makes you feel like you are at a beachside holiday resort. Beautiful design, great innovative food, and the most amazing view!. Had the tequila prawn salad with a spiced watermelon margarita sooooo good! my friend got her meal for free as was midweek and buy 1 get 1 free deal was on. They have "endless summer" mural on the wall, along with some other cool artworks and thats exactly how it feels down there, like its always summertime. Def recommend can't wait to go back there.

Great place to catch up with mates for a few drinks and some tasty food at a reasonable price for Dee Why Beach. The pumpkin pizza was a big hit with the missus whilst I sampled the Roast pork sandwich. Food arrived quick, was hassle free and delicious.

Loving the atmosphere of the new layout. Whether your sitting upstairs or outside by the beach. Perfect for those Sunday afternoon beers. Not to mention the live music is always killer!

I'll be making this place a staple on my go to places on the beaches. Love it!

Went here a few weeks ago after seeing the refurb and menu redesign. Went with 6 friends, I decided and my mate too order the steak Sandwich, which wasn't cheap mind you.

On arrival it came in English muffins for the bread. I couldn't believe it. In all my times of eating either cafe sandwiches and Steak Sandwiches I have bever seen them served in a English Muffin. I called the waiter over and enquired if they had run out of bread. He stated with abit of attitude "nope that how they always do them".

Because it had all the oil and juices sucked up into the mcmuffin bread which made a big soggy mess before I had even started it, I requested to send it back and order something else.

I asked for the Chicken caesar salad instead. My friends who were with me agreed that this was not how you make a lunch meal. Big disappointment with the Deck and I will not be going back. The salad was just ordinary and nothing special. For the prices they charge this isn't good enough.

Terrible! It was one of the few hot summer days that we had. The staff left the back door open for ventilation except it allowed the stench of the garbage bins to flow from the back ally. Not a Good Start.

Ordered the Fajitas, they looked ok but they tasted really bland and they only gave you 3 tortillas - Not good Value. Service was terrible and unfriendly.

They refused to accept credit cards unless the amount was more than $50 and instead directed you to their own ATM which then charges a transaction fee. What a rort!

Wont be back! Too many other choices on Dee Why Beach!

Paid good money for a bad experience. Firstly I suggest that the kitchen staff and management Google image Paella at a bare minimum. Even better get a recipe off the net. Even better than that hire a chef who knows how to cook. Paid over $77 for a Paella that was supposedly meant for two. Was a child’s portion of rice on the side with some cheap, tough (overcooked) and cold seafood cooked in what tested like tinned tomato juice. Then, when we complained managements response was ‘no one else has ever complained’.

Second suggestion, Management Google ‘hospitality’ and being ‘hospitable’! Credit where due, manager banged on about how he could get us more rice… like that would be enough to make us happy. Manager soon realised we were really not impressed and offered two drinks on the house. So, asked for Sambuca (something that can be drunk fast so we could get out of there), and instead turns up with some watery cherry liquor, saying ‘you are going to like that’. Well, was watery cherry liquor and not Sambuca.

Went to pay and asked how things were. Said ‘Paella’ was not Paella’, to get told, ‘well that’s why we call it The deck Paella’. My response was, ‘there is only so much room for interpretation for Paella, and I lived in Spain for 1 year to know’. Bar ladies response was ‘So did I…blah blah blah, but I don’t speak Spanish’. Ha! Covering for if I quizzed her on the truth of this statement I guess. If it hadn’t been for this one final bollocks around at the till and I would not have bothered writing this scathing review. Deck bar, ‘Welcome to the 21st century and the age of online reviews’!

Pathetic, quality was poor, service ordinary overpriced and disappointing value. Wouldn't be coming back nor would I recommend this place. Never write a review but felt v compelled to make mention of my experience. Very disappointed.

8 of us went for dinner on a Sunday night for my daughter's 18th birthday. We have eaten at Deck 23 a few times before and have been very pleased. Apparently, there has been a recent change of ownership. That was noticeable straight away with the service which was great. A very friendly waiter welcomed us warmly and offered our daughter a free pre-dinner cocktail as it was her birthday. The restaurant overlooks Dee Why Beach, it was a full moon and a lovely clear evening so the setting was excellent.

Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to Service and the Ambience. 2 of our group ordered a risotto which was only luke warm and another 2 ordered a large meat dish which was also only luke warm. We told the waiter at the end of the meal. He was grateful that we told him so he can take steps to correct it. The problem is I'm not sure that we will ever be going back to find out whether that happens or not.

Just as we've found this great restaurant it's about to close for renovations, putting in a fireplace for cold winter nights, adding pizzas to the menu etc. If they keep the current menu they are on a winner for the beachfront. The salt and pepper Szechuan squid was fantastic, big chunks of crispy squid, served with an Asian salad. It was really too filling for an entree, it would be good to share.

The NZ john dory in the fish and chips was delicious, but the big disappointment of the night was the twice cooked pork belly with scallops, the pork was simply a few thin strips of very bland pork. It was desperately crying out for some sort of sticky glaze or soy sauce, or something to lift it above the very ordinary. The service was fabulous and we will go back.

Used to go here all the time but hadn't been for a while. Was pleasantly surprised at all the changes new barfood/cocktail menu is a winner. New owner seems like a decent bloke and the bar staff were quick and polite. Didn't eat upstairs but will try it out in the coming weeks. Atmosphere with the Band downstairs was great, everyone was enjoying themselves. A++ great night out by the beach.
