Great location, but the staff have been the pits for the last 8-9 months. No smiles, not organised, no leadership which is painful to watch for customers on a busy Friday night. No real variation in drinks and the value. But the ambience is still great and the pizzas are pretty darn good.
I find this place is a bit more expensive than other bars to eat lunch. But the outdoor seating and coverings are great, meaning you can eat outdoors no matter how bad the weather is. All the meals on the menu are good - no complaints from me!
Some reviews sound like they're reffering to the bar at the Customs House building (eg Cafe Sydney) not Customs House Bar owned by The Marriott Hotel in Macquarie Place.
Either way it got a great atmosphere, not your average city pub. The staff/service is incredible so helpful and friendly and with $6 pints it has to be one of my favourite watering holes.
The outdoor location is nice but the place is a rip-off, even for City prices, I bought a vodka and red bull it cost $11.50. A redbull on it's own was $6.00. I would never go there again and would urge others to do the same.
