Had a quick bite with my flatmates before a concert at The Basement. I thought this place was perfect with a good location and good reviews here. Seriously? The food is nothing special, the only service we got is taking orders at counter and bringing food out. Very disappointed.

Had a group lunch here the other day. I had the salt and pepper squid salad which was really yum, but at $18 heading towards the pricier end of the pub fare scale. I like that the service is always pleasant and efficient and I know I can always expect a decently cooked meal here.

Great place, all the right beers on tap and good wine selection, friendly staff always serve you in super quick time. Perfect Friday afternoon venue!

This place is good. Has good food and cooked well. Plenty if selection and plenty of room to choose your seats. Inside or outside. Good beer and on tap. Worth it. Great location and fair prices considering where it is.

I have spent many a Friday night out by the park at Customs House Bar. You can't get faster service anywhere in the area on a Friday night. With pints at $6.50 in the northern end of the CBD that's great. The overall service, quality and organisation has improved out of sight over the last 18 months. We recently held a business function for about 100 people and the evening was perfect both with the staff and the cordoned private area that was provided for us. Definitely the place to hold a large function.

Great location, but the staff have been the pits for the last 8-9 months. No smiles, not organised, no leadership which is painful to watch for customers on a busy Friday night. No real variation in drinks and the value. But the ambience is still great and the pizzas are pretty darn good.

I find this place is a bit more expensive than other bars to eat lunch. But the outdoor seating and coverings are great, meaning you can eat outdoors no matter how bad the weather is. All the meals on the menu are good - no complaints from me!

Some reviews sound like they're reffering to the bar at the Customs House building (eg Cafe Sydney) not Customs House Bar owned by The Marriott Hotel in Macquarie Place.

Either way it got a great atmosphere, not your average city pub. The staff/service is incredible so helpful and friendly and with $6 pints it has to be one of my favourite watering holes.
