For a birthday celebration, I bought a Cupcakes on Pitt giant cupcake in tiramisu flavour. It was an awesome cupcake, I wish I could post up photos of it on here for everyone to see! It was meticulously detailed, from the icing on the top of the cupcake, to the lady finger biscuits that lined the sides. When I picked it up, my arms started aching while carrying it back to the car, thats how ladened with cream and how dense and beautiful the chocolate cupcake innards was!
It was a great novelty cake and I got many compliments on it. For 50 bucks, I thought it was quite cheap, and could easily feed 15 people, it measured about 25-30 cms tall! It tasted great and wasn't at all dry (sometimes their smaller cupcakes can get a bit dry on the insides). Staff were extremely helpful when I called them to order, and recommended certain flavours. Just be sure to call them at least 2 days in adv so they can start preparing this for you and be ready to pay in advance.
These cupcakes are adorably decorated and have a lovely light texture. You really are paying for the decorations though. My favourite is the Tiramisu. Coffees here are also wonderful but there isn't much seating.
I think these are the best cupcakes in Sydney. I've tried others in various other shops but these are the best and they taste even better than they look gorgeous. I've bought them for friends and everyone loves the taste and look of them. At $2 each they are a steal - the BEST!
When I walked in there were so many cupcakes to choose from, all of which were delightfully pretty. But after looking closer, I realise that there isn't much variety, as quite a bulk of the variety are just different flavoured icings on vanilla or chocolate cupcake bases. I am sad to say that the cupcakes look better than they taste. I've had better from local bakeries. The texture of the dough is quite dry and that means they don't have a great recipe or the cupcakes are not so fresh. For $2 a pop the prettiness is worth a go, but I won't be rushing back because the quality is just not there.
I go gaga for cupcakes usually, but these cupcakes are definitely lacking. Meretricious is a word which sums them up well: pretty to look at back lacking in substance (tastiness)!
At $2 a cupcake you'd think you couldn't go wrong, well here you can. Sickeningly sweet faux-ganache on top, dry stale-tasting cake inside - those kids bake at home cupcakes are yummier. Avoid.
Good idea but doesn't work because quality is poor. Nice to look at. Opened in Parramatta not long ago. Very busy, the first few weeks but once tried a couple of times, it is hard to go back for more. Suspect that cakes are kept for some days before selling and I took one home and nothing grew on it in a week, this should tell you all you need to know. They certainly are not all fresh every day. Filled with preservatives and who knows what.
