I bought a plain cream and strawberry one the other day and I'm pretty sure it was gone in three bites.

So disappointing! I went to the original Pitt street store when it first opened and I loved it! I went to the Clarence Street store today and the cupcake was dry, tiny and unexciting, the store had almost no stock and looks like it's going under. So disappointing - these used to be so great - the place where I took my overseas visitors :(

I used to have the cupcakes often when it was just the Pitt Street store. Then I stopped going as I no longer worked in the city but recently, I had the chance to try it again and I have to say, I'm a tad disappointed. Though they now have more flavours, it is now a lot smaller, sweeter and not as fluffy.

Hihi, I tried Cupcakes on Pitt when I was in syd, had the cupcakes every other day. I seriously thought it was really nice and delicious unlike the other really sweet icing I have tried. I particularly love the icing from Cupcakes on Pitt, however, something left me wondering though, why is it that the icing doesn't seem to melt even in hot weather as I brought back the cupcakes to sunny singapore.
I then realized they must have used shortening, which I am really not a big fan of. I am not too sure really though. Does anyone know what the icing consists of? I know sugar and colouring definitely, how about butter? The texture looks more like its made entirely from shortening though. Anyone knows? Thanks

I stumbled upon Cupcake on Pitt. They had a deal $5 for coffee and a cupcake. The shop is decorated very nicely and colourful. They have lot of flavours but I went for the simplest one, vanilla cupcake with pink sugar. The cupcake was very dense to my liking. Compared to the cupcakes in Magnolia in New York, Cupcake On Pitt is far from it. The coffee was fine. The service is friendly but a tad slow.

The service was nice and friendly, the cupcakes on the other hand could have been much better. They were well presented but that's about it, although they're supposed to be different flavours it tasted all the same to me. Just a bunch of cream on a simple cake.

The cakes are horrible. Taster really bad, the flavouring taster very fake and weird, very dry, service was really bad. Can't really speak good english (Chatswood), speaking korean among themselves. The only good thing is the look of the cakes and the shop.

Even though it looks quite expensive for people who can bake and the cake itself is quite dry but the icing/frosting is delicious. The variety of flavors made it worth $2 because it's fun to pick out many flavors and taste it plus the packaging is cute. This is far more better than some cupcake shop in the city.

They look really good but are overpriced and don't taste like anything special.

For a birthday celebration, I bought a Cupcakes on Pitt giant cupcake in tiramisu flavour. It was an awesome cupcake, I wish I could post up photos of it on here for everyone to see! It was meticulously detailed, from the icing on the top of the cupcake, to the lady finger biscuits that lined the sides. When I picked it up, my arms started aching while carrying it back to the car, thats how ladened with cream and how dense and beautiful the chocolate cupcake innards was!
It was a great novelty cake and I got many compliments on it. For 50 bucks, I thought it was quite cheap, and could easily feed 15 people, it measured about 25-30 cms tall! It tasted great and wasn't at all dry (sometimes their smaller cupcakes can get a bit dry on the insides). Staff were extremely helpful when I called them to order, and recommended certain flavours. Just be sure to call them at least 2 days in adv so they can start preparing this for you and be ready to pay in advance.
