I used to really love this place and their tasty crumpets offered something different to the usual breakfast options in Coogee. On our latest visit this past weekend, however, we were disappointed to find service has gone downhill. We could not find a clean table to sit at and the waitress had to come over and clean ours once we were seated. We also waited a long time for our orders to be taken and watched in frustration as other patrons who arrived after us were tended to first.

We had to call the waitress over to finally take our order. Thankfully the food is still good but the disappointing service means I probably won't be so keen to dine here in future.

I went to the crumpet cafe with a friend & loved it!! My friend had a $19 voucher for 2x meals & 2x drinks so it was really fantastic!

I had the brazilian crumpets with mango & spiced ricotta & was amazed at how great it tasted... I think the spiced ricotta had cinnamon & cardamon but I'm not 100% sure.

The only downside was the lengthy wait we had to wait for 1/2 hour before our meals came out & there were only 6-8 people but that's the only thing I could fault & I'd definitely go back :)

New owners appear to take previous goodwill for granted; while the food was ok once it arrived it took 30 minutes for our order to be taken despite only six tables being occupied. Coffee was burnt so looked better than it tasted. Sad to see another favourite haunt heading south :-(

I love this place. It's right by my flat so I go there often. Friend staff, really good lunch food. Right next to a fairly major bus stop in Coogee.

Living locally and wanting to get away from the Summer Traffic of Coogee Bay Road, we headed up to crumpet for Breakfast. What a great idea that was!
Coffee and fresh juices are great, good menu choice and special requests easily catered for. Will be back!

Can't say much re the service since its order at the counter even so you aren't really acknowledged or made to feel welcomed as a customer. On the other hand, the breaky that Lil Neecy and I had was prepared well, fresh and very tasty. We enjoyed our coffees also sitting outside on a sun-drenched autumn sunday morning.

I recommend the ricotta and berry crumpet! Yum! Fun idea, a bit over priced.

OK, I'm usually pretty understanding and not that hard to please, but I had a really bad breakfast here. It came to the table burnt to a cinder. Black corn fritters tasting of coal, charred bacon I nearly broke my teeth on, salsa that tasted like it came out of those jars in the Mexican section of Coles carrying an odd vinegar taste that permeated the whole dish and a poached egg with a yolk as hard as wood.

The fresh avocado slice the only redeeming feature. I was astonished they even brought it out to the table. And it wasn't a particularly busy morning. The coffee was OK. Very sweet waitress and a tempting array of wonderfu l- smelling muffins etc. on the counter, but sadly couldn't make up for what was an inedible breakfast, and we won't be returning when there is so much more to choose from in the area.

Okay cafe, nice enough food, but not anything great, as you could get this type of food anywhere. Order at the counter, therefore can't really comment on having good service. Prices are reasonable, cafe is situated nicely in the morning suns reach, but decor is nothing inspirational. All in all, give it a go and make up your own minds, because its neither a here nor there for me.
