Had lunch on a Sunday at midday. One barman and 1 floor/food/barista. Expect to wait behind 4-6 people when ordering drinks at the bar. Lunch, ordered Caesar salad with king prawns for $20. The Caesar dressing was bland with the consistency of skim milk, 1 boiled egg cut in half and 3 prawns.
The surprise was two small pieces of plastic that was also tossed through this salad, more like a bowl of lettuce than a salad. The waiter was fantastic with his response to the complaint, and a round of drinks was offered to our table. Go for the drinks, the friendly staff and the location, eat before you go there.
Awesome! this place was great! the food was as good as the view and the prices were good considering the location! We took friends from interstate and no one was disappointed! great waiter who was attentive and knew what he was doing! A great experience, highly recommended!
Cruise bar is awesome and everyone is so friendly!! I love the amazing cocktails! watching bottles and stuff flying thru the air is so much fun too. Such a lovely place to come. Thankyou for a fantastic time cruise.. will be back for sure.
Visited this bar several times over a long weekend in Sydney. Cheerful, efficient and friendly staff. Wine was good and reasonably priced. Would recommend this either during the day or evening for a relaxing time.
Went for lunch on a Wednesday, got there right on 12 noon and the place was pretty quiet so could not understand why it took 45 minutes to get a plate of fish and chips and a steak sandwich! The fish was terrible, drenched in oil and burnt to a crisp in some parts. The chips were ok and the salad was not even dressed. My husband's steak sandwich was as tough as a leather shoe and full of fat.
The only positive thing there is the view and there was plenty of space. The girl behind the bar did give my husband a free beer (good customer service), but it did not make up for the terrible food which was twenty bucks a plate. If it's the view you are after, go grab some Maccas and sit on a park bench next to Cruise bar...you will get a better meal and save some bucks too!!! Won't be going back.
Always busy and a great place to show off our city to visiting friends, but could the staff please be a bit more welcoming. Visitors want to feel as though they aren't intruding on local turf. Fabulous cocktails and wonderful decor/location/vista.
I went for Friday night drinks with my colleagues last week. The friendliness of the bar staff really made our night. It was really refreshing to see that the waiters and bar tenders were so down to Earth and approachable, unlike other 'trendy' bars where you're made to feel the staff are doing you a favour by talking to you. The cocktails were reasonably priced and really well presented and the view was incredible. We're making Cruise our new local!
We went here for a friend's farewell. First of all the bar staff had mistaken our booking for the Cruise restaurant upstairs. Once we had pointed out that no we just wanted a bar food lunch, they were quite rude to us and seemed to purposely delay taking our orders. The view is sensational but thats about it. Seagulls fly over your head every few minutes, the tables are dirty and the place looks outdated.
I ordered a margarita pizza but I may as well have ordered an oil pizza. It oozed off my chin and just kept dripping! Yuck! Not impressed with the food and service at this place at all, may consider going back for a drink as the view is really beautiful.
I would like to ask, what the hell is cakeage?? To be charged $5 a head to serve a $10 cake left behind the bar proves only that the staff at Cruise Bar don't have the customer service skills to serve cake without being paid. Another gesture the staff may like to take on board is to suggest to customers whether they would like tap water as an option, rather than charging $13 a bottle. Or maybe just warn us first that here you must pay for something that should be free.
So anyone who would like to experience Cruise Bar for a birthday event, please keep your cakes under the table, otherwise it may end up being more expensive than the meal itself (although that seems rather unlikely considering the ridiculous prices!)
