What a fantastic little restaurant. Food was amazing, we loved the pork belly and the king fish ceviche tasted so fresh and lively. Don't even get me started on the sizzling garlic prawns. Just fantastic. All topped off with excellent service. Very very impressed. Will definitely be back again.

Went there the other night and were impressed by the food quality.

Caramelised woodside goat cheese with sweet and sour onion compote is small, but sensational. Order a few of those. The Jamon Serrano croquette with Romesco sauce is good as well, as are the patatas bravas and the meatballs.

Basically, really good tapas for a pretty fair price, and generous servings of really nice sangria. Cheaper than Bodega but with more available seats and similar food. We'll be back.

Dined here on a Thursday night with 3 friends. We sat with a view to the street. Is a nice little place, despite the ugly view of the taxi. There was a jazzy band playing which was absolutely delightful. A really nice vibe.

We ordered 4 Raciones, the medium sized meals and it was ok if you were not hungry. But if you were, you would need about 6-8 I think to be quite satisified. We got the calamari, the paella, the garlic prawns and the chicken wings. All were very tasty. I definitely recommend these dishes.

It wasn't too busy so service was friendly. The food was delicious, so I would probably dine here again. Though, tapas is generally expensive anyway.

Lets start hey very over priced portions are so small for what you get, the tapas are tiny and our first one a tortilla took 20 minutes to come to the table which we paid 4 dollars for and was a tiny rectangle. The raciones are supposedly medium sized but think again about the size of a small tea cup saucer and we paid $25 dollars for one of these dishes which was not enough to share between three maybe three children.

So you need at least 4-5 raciones for 3 people which tops it at like 100+ dollars not my idea of value plus entrees and 1 drink definitely not value the restaurant is sectioned on a super busy main street across from a taxi refuelling station and a thoroughfare for beeping cars and ambulances not a relaxing vibe at all considering the price and the restaurant was pretty empty the whole time which is completely explainable, high prices, average food go somewhere else.

Service was alright. Got there early on a Friday night. Another table was placed right next to our table of two (way too close for comfort) when all the other tables were empty. Chorizo was plain, eggplant was disappointing. Only standout dish was the pork belly. Wanted to stay for dessert, and the one chosen wasn't available. Sadly, will not be returning.

Excellent Cevishe! Sangria was resonnably priced, and the service was warm and personal. This place is away from Crown street, worth the detour.

We went there seven people and the service was quite good. But apart from that I can’t write any positive feedback. Nothing special about its location, it is in the back streets of Surry Hills looking at a gas station. Food is average, far from being Spanish, and extremely overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Service? Ha! What's that? The manager of this restaurant obviously has no concept of management whatsoever and would be better suited to working at the RTA where people are expected to wait. Chef was very skilled but food was far from Spanish in origin and took forever to get to the table. Bar tender was extremely skilled and drinks were fabulous. Over all, apart from the bar, this restaurant is exceedingly over priced and it takes 45 minutes at least to get your meal on a friday or saturday night. It's relatively quick on other nights because it's totally dead.

I read the last review and wonder if my girlfriend and I went to the same place ? I am back from 2 years in Europe where I spend a lot of time in Spain. It was my birthday last week, so my girlfriend invited me to Cru54... We sat at the bar like the Spanish people do. This tapas bar is very similar to the one in Spain, it is very authentic. Unassuming little bar, great food and the wine list has French and Spanish wine only. We started with the magic ball (as my girl call it), goat cheese with toffee & a onion jam : a delight. We had some very traditional croquette with Romesco, then we had the crispy pork belly on red cabbage and the beef cheek on cauliflower mash which had been slow cooked for 4 hours... We share a bottle of Tempranillo, and for a moment I was back In Spain. We Loved the service and being able to talk to the chef since the kitchen is all open. We could see our dishes being prepared, and the care that was put into it. We will certainly be back.

I went to Cru54 on Saturday with some friends. The place was half empty and we were seated on the tables outside. I must say the restaurant had the worse service ever. They forgot to serve us our drinks, and then after serving us our tapas and two of our mains we were waiting for our last dish for a long time, which never arrived.

After querying with two waiters and the manager, the waiter who originally had taken our order said we never ordered the dish as he had not written it down. Which is ridiculous as we all knew we had placed the order, rather than apologising for his mistake he was quite rude about it. I must say that spoilt the whole meal. It's a shame as the food wasn't bad but I will never go back and I would suggest they should train their staff better if they expect others to go back there.
