Visitors to the Crocodile Farm Hotel remark in astonishment at the Croc’s ‘new skin’ - and it's more than just the 12ft Crocodile entombed in the dance-floor that's sparking interest. The multi-million dollar refurbishment has transformed Ashfield’s run down local watering hole into a vibrant and contemporary bistro, bar & function arena.
Located in the heart of the Ashfield Business District, the Crocodile Farm Hotel has grown from a coffee shop to a highly successful Hotel since it was founded on October 26, 1996.
With redevelopments completed in March this year, the 'new' Crocodile Farm Hotel features modern dining facilities, a public bar, which includes Keno facilities and plasma screens, lounge bar, beer garden & al fresco dining amenities.
Whilst it is true that the Crocodile Farm Hotel does not match the clichés associated with Ashfield dining, with many young professionals moving to the area, the hotel has not only earned an appreciative clientele, but is also considered to be ahead of the curve of what is to come in the Ashfield area.

Will definitely be eating/drinking here again, was particularly impressed by management in the front bar during the footy on Friday night. Managed to keep the rowdy locals under control... kudos to you. 2 thumbs up!

Had the $10 special fish and chips, meal was Ok, but the fish was 2 tiny strips of fish, by far the smallest serve I have Ever had. They also charged $2.60 for a glass of water! They claimed it was bottled still water, but it was Not cold, and I'd asked for a glass of water. Not going back, somewhere else up the road is Far better value, and friendlier service.

Excellent. My meals are always delicious. I often try something of the monthly specials menu which is always delicious. The service is really good and the food is really good value for money.

The bistro upstairs of The Crocodile Hotel is funky and cosy. A great place for a group to gather for drinks in the lounge area which is right next to the bistro.
My friends commented favourably about their meal, however, I was one of the unlucky few who had a bad experience with the food. Many of us ordered the $10 rump steak based on previous rave reviews we'd heard from others. Every rump steak that came out to our table was inconsistent - huge differences in portion size and thickness. I asked for mine to be cooked medium rare but it was served well-done. Very well-done. Tough, dry and totally unenjoyable. I couldn't eat it.
I didn't have the heart to send it back seeing as it was only $10. My friend also ordered medium-rare and her serving was fantastic. A lovely, juicy, thick piece of steak nicely red, where as my steak was very thin. So be warned, if ordering the $10 rump steak you may not get what you ask for.

Only went here because we had a for 2 for 1 voucher from a supermarket receipt. Pretty average standard pub fare. Wouldn't bother unless another 2 for 1 deal comes up.

Went there for a $10 steak because of the banner advertising it. The steak was cooked nicely to how I ordered it, chips were thick cut and freshly fried, and the salad was fresh with balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. The sauces were probably the weakness though, it looked like sauces you can get at Coles and it tasted bland.
Overall I'd recommend it, might also recommend bringing your own steak sauce too.

The food I had on the day was cold and seemed they attempted to re heat it, do not seem fresh at all. Service was really really slow.

Good value if you have a 2-for-1 docket (which can be obtained from woolworths in the adjacent shopping centre!).
My companion and I had the sirloin steaks ($8.95 each!) and were quite pleased with the meal; however it was just simple pub fare, without any outstanding qualities. The meat was adequately tender and flavoursome, it came with a decent sauce, and it was filling. The service wasn't spectacular, but our meals arrived on time and were hot. For $8.95 on a Friday night, who'd complain?

Been to this pub on a few occasions and not impressed, the staff lack in service skills not friendly and we ordered a meal at the bistro and it took way too long to get to the table and when it did it wasn't even hot. The staff don't even smile its a shame they don't have any customer service skills they could put to use. Not the staff I'd be hiring thats for sure.

Was a regular when the bistro first opened and we thought the food was great value and the service was good as well.
However, it has changed. We were seated outside because the inside dining area was full. The service was non-existent, bordering on rude. We got ignored (twice!) when we requested to order our food. Third time I had to physically walk to the waiter who was inside standing around doing nothing. He gave a rude remark while I walked away.
Food took too long to come out, especially for bistro food. There were 3 other groups who ordered after us and they received their foods before us. Food was bland. Bf and friend had the rump steak which looked like a slab of Woolies BBQ steak. The mushroom sauce was runny and looked like mushed up mushrooms and water. Horrible. Bf and friend couldn't finish their meals.
If anyone is considering this place for a meal. I suggest pass it and head to Ashfield Hotel (5 minutes down the road). They have better service and better food for the same price. Not worth the time or the money.
