After trying the less than impressive 'cafes' in the main part of terrigal my partner and I decided to head out of the main drag and try the cove cafe. We had been before in march of 2008 and found the senior staff to be surly, the food lukewarm and the coffee terrible.
Thankfully there is a new boss in town. We were greeted with a fresh new look, smiling new staff and great coffee. The cafe now has a fresh new vibe and although they were quite busy we still felt special. I will visit again. I suggest you do the same.
No better location on the central coast for the views - menu is limited but good quality - service can be a little slow but friendly - needs attention to detail - good value and one of our favorites on the Coast. Tables are wobbly which is annoying.
This place was terrible, when we got there the english accent waitress didn't even show us to our tables, said there were bookings although the place was empty, and was completely fake throughout the time we were there and acted like we were not even welcome to be there.
She did not make us welcome, we did not get a menu for ages and made us feel extremely uncomfortable to dine there with her poor attitude. We were left sitting there for 20 minutes after receiving the menu which is more like 2 pieces of paper with 10 choices and thats mains and entrees put together of overpriced food. So we left.
The service was appalling and then they tried to charge us for corkage even though we had to serve ourselves, appalling, rude, bad bad bad!
The only good thing about it was the view.
The cove has changed owners since last time we visited and we couldn't be happier. There is a new menu, new staff, new wine list, new furniture new everything. This place finally has the service and food to match its location.
Last time I warned people not to go there, now I'm a regular everytime I go up the coast. Its a must see!
Dropped in here twice for brekky during the week - had the banana bread and some toast, which was thickly sliced. The food was OK as was the service. The location, sitting right next to the water was lovely.
Apart from the beautiful views of Terrigal, nothing else compared. The service was average, typical of Terrigal's high turnover of staff. The produce was old, the tomatoes were soggy and powdery, the lettuce had black bits on it, the bruchetta had powdered parmesan on it!!!
The menu selection was boring. The whole thing was not up to standard. Won't be going back.
Great Views, love the location, attentive service, George is fantastic. The new menu though is not all that great but still good. Would always keep on going back.
One of the best views in Australia! Nice food, pleasant service and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Could charge a lot more and we would still be frequent visitors!
We went for a coffee which was OK. But the service was pathetic. I had to go inside to find the waitress. After that the coffee came reasonably quickly but then when we tried to pay the bill we waited 15 minutes by the till while the waitress patted a dog taken to the cafe by someone. Dogs in a cafe??? no way.
