The worst dining experience I have had in Sydney. After the initial order no member of staff came near our table to see if we wanted to order any drinks while we waited the hour and a half it took for our meal to arrive, then only half of the order came. I had to ask several times for the rest of the order while food was delivered to tables around us who had ordered after us. When the rest of the order finally arrived, it was obvious that at least one of the dishes had been sitting under a hot lamp for quite some time. With the sauce congealing and the 'steak' tough and overcooked - should have been medium/rare.
Asked to speak to the manager, who blamed everything on the chef, and seemed to have no awareness or control over what was going on. The only almost apology was the offering of dessert on the house which we did not take as didn't fancy waiting another hour and a half for it to arrive. No reduction on the bill. We will definitely not be returning.

Rude wait staff that everything you ask for is a complete chore! entree took 35 minutes, mains an hour and a half. My bottle of wine was way finished by the time mains arrived so it didn't really matter that much that the food was average.
corkage $5.50 per bottle, sparkling water - $7 for an el cheapo bottle.
Twice I had to go to the counter to ask for service. Overall don't go there -there are far better deserving restaurants around.

Service was very slow and amateurish. Only the boss seemed to know what he was doing. Were the others still being trained by him on a busy Saturday night?

This is the second time we have been to Costa Del Sol. The first time was terrific so much so that we encouraged relatives to join us last night. Our second experience was so far removed from the first that it was as if it was a different restaurant. A grumpy head waiter took us to our table and took our order. Took our own wine but ordered some soft drinks and water. The "coke" was some cheap and nasty brand and had decided to order more with the meal but no waiter came near us for almost an hour!
We had only ordered mains but waited an hour for one of them to arrive. We called over the waiters a few times but got no response. The first of our main courses arrived, then the sides for the other two, the second and third orders arrived about 15 minutes after that and one was wrong. The fourth order finally arrived 15 minutes after the others. The replacement dish arrived just as we decided to leave. We will never return.

I went there for a quiet sunday dinner with some friends. I was expecting good food, friendly service and good atmosphere... unfortunately I got disappointed.
The food was just ok (we shared several dishes) but absolutely no atmosphere, the service was a bit rude, I was just wondering if it is a crime not to order coffee or desserts at the end the meal?. I won't come back.

Never been here before. Thought we'd take a gamble as we only had 1 and a half hours to get back home to watch our favorite TV show. (5 minutes away) Big mistake. It was a reasonably busy Saturday night. Orders took a long time to be taken. The head waiter publicly scolded the poor assistant who passed on our request to have our orders taken. Entrees took 1 hour to arrive. Gin's and tonic were completely flat and had to be sent back. 90 minutes after arriving, my partner tried to move things along by informing the senior staff that we were ready for our main course now.
The lady (senior staff) scowled at us and said tersely "You'll have to wait". I was deeply shocked and outraged. Had we not been waiting so long and were now so hungry, I would have walked out at this point. The food was tolerably good, but difficult to enjoy since the overall experience was so horrible. We missed our favorite TV show. Just don't go there.

My partner and I ordered the paella ($55 overall for the dish).
The head waiter did not smile once and had a very poor knowledge of what was in the paella.
After 30 minutes of waiting (that was OK as it is expected for a good paella) the meal was delivered.
After the first few mouthful it was quite apparent that this was the worst paella that I/we had ever tasted.
The chicken was dry and overcooked.
The prawns and mussels were rubbery and overcooked.
The rice and peas were tasteless.
We alerted this fact to the owner of the restaurant. All she could say was SORRY and scurried off not to be seen again for the rest of the night.
We asked for the bill (no discount for their poor effort), paid it and left vowing never to return there again.

We arrived at 7 pm without a booking, saw an empty restaurant and thought we were in for a quiet night. Within half an hour, though, the front section was completely full. The atmosphere still lacked something, though. If you like your waiters/waitresses to smile, don't go here, but apart from that they're pretty efficient. The food was really quite nice, as well as filling (we didn't manage dessert, after sharing an entree and having a main each).
We'd never had Portuguese food, and the menu had enough variety on it for us to resolve to return to sample something new. But then again, there are so many Portuguese and Brazilian places in Petersham, that it may be worth doing the rounds instead!

We had a party of 18 which was a very very special event.
The entree's were mediocre but was palatable for consumption. Not something you would absolutely rave about but passable. The Chorizo's were some what over done, the bbq octopus was good whilst everything else lacked the Portugese flavour.
The mains especially the meat platter was good tasty and could have been a little more flavoursome. It was however generous though it would have been nice if it was hot!!! this was somewhat off putting. The lack of spices so true to Portugal was sadly disappointing.
With the bill tallying to over $500 and payement by Visa. It is sad to say insult to injury, when one of the guests produced a docket with '25% off the Bill' What a joke. They proceeded to say that the Visa was processed and therefore could not be credited!!! So we asked them for the discount in $$ and was then told that the docket is only meant to be up to 25 dollars only. What a rip-off!!!
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Especially considering the service to be distasteful and lacking. The people were totally unfriendly. What a sad night for a family outing!!!

Taking my girlfriend out with my family for the first time, we wanted to spoil her with some delightful Portuguese cuisine. We had previously gone there to eat but were not ready for the vile service and food that we were to receive - vile being very generous!!! In terms of service, the menus were thrown on the end of our table. We waited approximately 20min to be served, and over an hour and a touch for our mains. Service can at CDS can be defined as non-existent to arrogant when it is present.
The food was served luke-warm. The chicken espatadas were still slightly raw. For a place that charges within the $20-35 region for their mains, it could be said that it was the worst eating out experience I have ever encountered. To top it all off, one of the members managed to find hair in her food and was given little sympathy when brought to the staff attention. I definitely do not recommend!!!
