Visited the Cortile Lounge for High Tea with my daughter. As it was Friday we had the tiered plate. ( The weekend High Tea is buffet style)The service was perfect and the food wonderful. Delicious scones with jam and fresh cream followed by quiche, mini chicken pies and finger sandwiches. The cake plate was amazing and we didn't leave hungry. A glass of sparkling wine is included in the price. Tea by the pot from an amazing and different list is bottomless. Coffee lovers need not worry as they have espresso including decaffeinated. The old treasury building is wonderfully restored and makes a lovely backdrop. High Tea $45 a head.

I've visited the Cortile on two occasions, firstly to have high tea which I really recommend and secondly, just to have a coffee and some cake with a friend and that was also lovely. The service is fantastic, and the food is great too.

Nice and relaxing, beautiful coffee-was pricey though and not even a large cup but anyway, gorgeous views of the sky courtyard ceiling and a Victoriana deco.

Came here with some friends after the opera and just missed the high tea but decided to stay for a quick bite to eat. We ordered a cheese plate and it took over an hour to arrive! Did they have to milk the cow and make the cheese? We were promised that we weren't going to be charged for it but they tried to bill us for it. The service was absolutely pathetic and the cheese plate was also pathetic. Considering they were charging $29, I could have bought better cheeses from Coles.

I went here for a friends birthday and I would not recommend it to anyone. The trays of cakes had fruit flies buzzing around it and I did not eat one single cake. The sandwhiches were small and they were ok (nothing special). Also had hot food such as meat pies and quiches but this is not something i would pay $50 for.

The only think I liked was the fresh waffles. Service was good and the lounge was nice. Other than that, I would not recommend it as it was $50 and all I ate was party pies, tiny sandwhiches and waffles. I am sure there is other high tea places which are better value. It was a disappointment.

Don't do it to yourself! Went here with a friend for the afternoon tea. The scones had been warmed in the microwave! The food was not fresh, the sandwiches were stale, when they had thawed to room temperature. We had to ask for the tea, although I think that was what we were there for.

Service? Woeful. Consistently had to request the basics: spoons, milk, knife, glass of water. Waiting staff would hurry away to get the request only to have to be reminded. To have this disgraceful experience you too can be charged $35.00. It is an experience you will not forget though so maybe that is worth something.
Tip - At this end of town there is better value elsewhere.

Had afternoon High Tea on the weekend. Food was excellent in a nice enclosed courtyard setting (unfortunately pianist was absent!). Service was generally atrocious for 5-star hotel, being very slow and uncertain (an inexperienced waiter even dropped two glasses of bubbly on us which took a while to be replaced!). Some of the buffet food also arrived late. For a High Tea they only provide standard tea or coffee included in the under the standard price - not what we expected. At $45, value was mediocre at best.

Attended their weekend high tea and felt very satisfied after it all. The service is professional and warm at the same time. You will be spoiled for choice in the food, considering this is afternoon tea with pies, quiches, sausage rolls, scones, a variety of cakes and a chef who will whip up your crepes and waffles. On a beautiful day, the light beams through the glass atrium and brightens up the place. The beautiful sandstone arches, white tiles, the pianist in the corner playing lounge music, comfortable chairs all help to create a relaxing atmosphere. Time will pass by easily in this place. An enjoyable afternoon affair guaranteed.

What a magical experience afternoon tea is in this most elegant space. Afternoon tea is served in buffet style. With an extensive selection of not just delectable scones, cakes and other assorted sweets but also mini sandwiches, mini quiches and mini pies. It is all very luxurious and indulgent. A wonderful way to spend a few hours with a friend and give in to one's sweet tooth.
