I organised my 10yr school reunion at the Corner Bar and found the staff and venue exceeded all my expectations from the word "go".

The staff were accommodating, pleasant and professional throughout the event, and nothing was too much of an effort. The manager on duty was exceptionally organised and helpful and courteously informed me at various points during the night of our progression through the bar tab and food orders.

The food was delicious (we devoured a large selection of the freshly made canapes), the cocktails were inspired and unique, a lovely change from the usual lists, and the music was spot on. All in all we had a great night and will definitely go back.

The bar which has a nice view and is really romantic with a candle on each table, is located in the heart of corporate North Sydney. Quiet surroundings, great hygiene, good service and smartly decorated, and the price there is not expensive. For example, you just spend 22.5 dollars on dinner for two. You can order what you are expected such as sandwiches, steaks, pastas and so on.

This place is a hidden gem.
1. The security guards act like "real" door hosts! - they ask you how you are as you enter the venue and do it with a smile. I don't think I have seen this at any other venues in Sydney.

2. The bar staff are well groomed and friendly to a fault, they also obviously enjoy their job which helps too.

3. Selection of products on offer is excellent.

4. This place is clean! It's hard to find a pub that actually have the right amount of staff to keep a venue clean.

Can't go past it!

Best pub food on the North Shore and great value for money. I had a steak and it was to die for, cooked perfectly !

Food is great, tap beer selection is the finest in the area and service is great.

They have these wicked giant beer jugs which get delivered to your table.

As for the reviews below, I suppose this site is a platform for people to vent their spleens - obviously when you add booze to any mix, people's experiences can be magnified - both positive and negative.

For food and drinks it is okay. I come here with a friend as they do Beck's German beer on tap. Other than that it is nothing to rave about. The number of reviews here that [i]do[/i] rave about it make me immediately suspicious...

Never in the 15 years of hiring and organising events have I been so disappointed with the function coordinator as this venue. Contractually obliged and agreed to a number of conditions which were not met but were promised and fell way below standards even a country club could have done better.

Decor was asthetically pleasing to some extent, but incompetencies with bartending staff was apparent and consistent during the night. Could it be the misguided visions of being an establishment of class or just sheer discrimination of music tastes which has made me rate this venue so low.

The price of a venue is usually not too much of a concern as an organiser, the responsability is to ensure the patrons do have a time they remember. But if your are planning a function gathering this is not the venue to do it at. There are a number of alternative venues which deliver much higher for alot lower.

I guess you learn from your mistakes but this looks like it will take alot of learning and a class in getting back to touch with reality for managment.

This is the worst place I have been to. I was asked for ID and I'm 40. The bartender was a novice and did not know what a VB was. On that fact the range of beer was pathetic and overpriced. The food was ok but the atmosphere was atrocious. Not the kind of bar you would bring your girlfriend or wife to I can say. I was challenged by a young man and the bouncer did not even move, and I was forced to fend for myself. A most unpleasant experience.
