Another service club bistro with the standard list, burgers, steak, schnitzels, fish ad chips plus pizzas, go and order, pay, get buzzer, and wait. Items are cooked on the spot, the advertised flathead (with chips and salad) had metamorphosed to an (acceptable) alternate species. Indoor tables are close together, but great for a family group. There is an outdoor area for smokers.

Drinks are available at the club bar, at reasonable prices!

Have been here for lunch 2 weeks in a row and the food and service is fantastic. We get the steak, chips and salad). Steak is cooked perfectly and the staff have on both occasions come up and asked us how are the meals (a rarity in any place let alone a club). Would recommend to anyone after a cheap wholesome meal.

New staff in the bistro have made a world of difference. Our table of 10 took advantage of the $10 steak night, with a free drink thrown in. My medium rare rump steak was just right, pink and moist in the middle. One of the party requested a well done steak and when it "mooed " at her, the entire meal was replaced!

The green salad was nicely dressed and the chips just right. It was school holidays and the bistro was packed so we took a table in the lounge area, no problem. There is still a problem with the smoking area being adjacent to the bistro, but for a cheap and cheerful family meal, it's tops!

Two adults, one child signed in around 12.30 pm on a Sunday expecting a cheap and cheerful meal. Chose our meals, paid at the counter. A small Meat Lovers pizza ($13.00) for our young one, a grilled salmon dish off the the specials board at $13.50, and a 'Fishermans Feast' at $17.50. So far, so good. The dining room progressively emptied, and people arriving after us were served, (a couple with the same meals we had ordered) finishing their meals and leaving all while we still waited.

I politely asked whether they had forgotten us, was told 'another five minutes, it's just coming out'. Waited another ten, and suspiciously saw our pizza order being made only then. Our other meals was sitting on top of the serving counter well prior to this, waiting for the pizza to be finally made and to cook. When the pizza was finally ready, the adults meals were stone cold, no exageration.

The pizza was charcoal around the edges, while sloppy and under cooked in the centre due to being pushed through at too high heat. They offered to throw our meals in the microwave to re-heat, I refused, returned the 'feast' and requested a refund (primarily because I don't appreciate being lied too).

The ambience is horrible, as the bistro is located right outside the push button activated door for the smoking area. The wait person was continually and audibly dropping the f-bomb at the kitchen staff, quite loudly yelling at him 'you have no system' etc, we were actually worried that a fight would start!

Yes, I understand that one should never expect fine dining at an RSL or Community club. However, there are some basic expectations that you take anywhere regardless of where you are dining. None of these were met. We were bitterly disappointed with our first visit to a potential local of ours.
