The outstanding aspect of this place is the service. Nothing is too much trouble (which is whnt you want when you're hungover and in need of TLC). The food was very good with very generous portions and quality ingredients. The coffee let them down, way too strong and bitter but, perhaps, that's the way people like it because everything else was spot on.
It was pouring today yet the place was relatively full. We were quickly greeted with a warm smile. How refreshing! Service was fantastic. Food (got the omelette) was generous portion and tasty. Would we come back? Definitely.
Arrived on a busy sunday lunchtime with a group of 4 that subsequently turned into a group of 5. Staff went out of their way to find us a comfortable seat, whilst making sure not to hurry another group who had finished, paid and were still sitting chatting. We waited 10-15 minutes for a table, and staff repeatedly apologised, we reassured them that it didn't matter, we were in no hurry and they were obviously busy.
Was worth waiting for, food was delicious, I had the avocado on turkish, served with a nicely dressed rocket and tomato salad. Mango smoothie was one of the nicest I've had in a while, and the coffee was perfect, as backed up by my friend who is extremely fussy about his coffee! Lovely service, chilled out vibe, great food. Will definitely come back.
Wandering in early on a sunday morning, Lil Neecy and I immediately felt at home. A sort of 60's style feel about the place. Very friendly service matched by very tasty food and smooth coffees, unrushed and good value for your dollar.
What a charming eatery! The food is great, the staff are lovely, the portions are generous, I have only good things to say about this venue. I work nearby but ensure I visit at least twice a week. Good work CCC!
Have been going here since around March 2008, visit at least once a weekend. My favourite coffeeshop, originally went here as it was the closest available hangover-fix, but now go for the enjoyment, the value and the beautiful personalities of the family-staff that run the place. I recommend this cafe to everybody, best brunch in town, hands down.
A very sweet little cafe on Crown Street, Coffee Cup has a lot of character in an understated boho kind of way. The staff are nice and friendly and the desserts and coffees first class (haven't had dinner here yet).
Perfect for a rainy night or a late night dessert and coffee (and from earlier reviews, dinner, but I can't judge that yet). Gorgeous, understated place to relax.
Went here for dinner for two on a rainy friday night. Cosy, cute atmosphere with friendly relaxed service. Very generous and tasty anti-pasto for entree, with a pasta and a steak for main. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the steak was honestly one of the best steaks I have had for quite a while.
Even after this mountain of food I managed to squeeze in some delicious freshly baked crumble for dessert. We waddled out very satisfied. Not five-star and fancy, but I don't think they are trying to be. Great local restaurant. First time reviewer, long time reader.
What can I say about this place? Family run, super friendly cafe, with just superb food, breakfast, lunch and dinner! Great value also. I can not stop raving about this place to everyone. The chef is a genious, and truly is one of the best in its class. Thank you Coffee Cup on Crown!
