We had a party of 18 (including 5 kids) today at Coco's using the a la carte menu. The staff were friendly and attentive. They took the kids order first (kids eat free with a paying adult - including drinks and ice cream) and were quick to turnaround their meals. The adult meals had a wait time of less than 20 minutes.

The presentation and size of the meals was fantastic. Guests had chose a variety of options from a very extensive menu, steak, pasta, fish, salmon and salads. There was not one bad review. For 13 adults with a few glasses of wine, some coffee and soft drinks the total bill was just under $400. Fabulous value, fabulous food and fabulous service. Highly recommend!

My partner and I decided to give "Coco's bar and grill" a try, after reading some of the mixed reviews and boy were we really surprised. For a rugby league club this restaurant looks flash with a fairly modern feel about the place, we came on a friday lunch and it was reasonably busy with what looked like predominantly seafood diners. We sat down and were greeted by a bubbly waitress who informed us of the chefs specials and the daily specials in a addition to the abundant ala carte menu with a vast array of steaks, whole and fillets of fish and crustacea.

The winelist looked good but we chose a "cocopolitan" and the "basil mojito" cocktails. As we were both hungry we opted for the "all you can eat" menu for $35 of pizzas, pastas, salads, lemon honey oregano lamb and bbq pork ribs, with my partner lea ving room for a homemade looking baked pear and ricotta tart, I could only fit in a "ben and jerry's" ice cream.

Overall great value my only gripe is being positioned so close to the clubs bistro. We will definitely be back but will ask to sit by the window or on the balcony.

Came here with my Lady last year in April when it was Mike's seafood. Oysters were a bit small. Surf and Turf was more quantity than quality I'd have to say.
As part of the league's club, the expectations were not quite on par with an equivalent menu'd restaurant, but we were appreciative of the nice attempt for sure.

Or 50+ A Table for Six members enjoyed dinner here on Saturday night. It was a bit different as far as a venue goes compared to our usual restaurants that we offer our members. But they reported that they thought it was a good venue for a cheap meal and a free band (good dance floor).

I went on a Saturday for lunch with 3 others. It wasn't busy, we had a window seat and the service was good. I enjoyed the octopus and the Atlantic Crab. The others had lamb souvlaki - one of the specials - which they all enjoyed. My mother loved the creme brulee for dessert.

Five of us had lunch at Mike's and were very pleasantly surprised. It was a very hot Wednesday and it appeared that half of the Eastern Suburbs population had decided to escape the heat by visiting the air conditioned comfort of Souths. Add to that the fact that Mike's had a Ladies Day lunch special on and the place was packed with a queue waiting to be seated.

Our waitress, whilst very pleasant, was clueless leaving the burden of answering questions to the head waitress. We all had entrees, oysters (plump and juicy), garlic prawns (6 large prawns in a tasty garlic cream sauce on rice), BBQ octupus (juicy, marinated and cooked to perfection) and a prawn cocktail (5 smallish prawns in a tasteless sauce and way too much rocket). The prawn cocktail was the one disappointment.

For mains, 4 of us had the Wednesday Fish and Chip special, 2 large bits of Pacific Dory, lightly battered and fried, with freshly cooked chips. For $7.00, the value was exceptional. One person had the grilled Pacific Dory ($10.00) and, although a healthier option than fish and chips, not as tasty. No desserts as we were replete but all had coffees. We will certainly dine at Mike's again, it's good value and the seafood is fresh and well cooked. Extra training for the waitstaff might prove a benefit but any lapses on the day did not detract from a very pleasant lunch.

The only thing going for this place is the view out the window but apart from that I wouldn't go there again. The prices are reasonable but the food isn't up to par.
I went with a group of 12 and we arrived a few minutes early and asked if two of our group could sit down as one was on crutches the other walking sticks, we were told " not my problem" by what seemed to be the manageress. And from there the service just got worse with poor timing of delivery of the meals, forgotten orders, missing cutlery, unable to make simple cocktails as advertised etc.

The food was definitely not produced by a competent chef or even a chef for that matter, food was either overcooked or too salty or in the case of their salads enough rocket leaves to keep any cow in heaven.

Overall whoever is running this place doesn't give a stuff about customer satisfaction let alone quality food or great service. Admittedly we had one waitress who had a general idea of her role.

    Won't be coming back......ever.

My husband and myself decided to give Mikes Seafood Grill and Bar at Kingsford a try, we have been to the other 3 in the Sutherland Shire. For a starter we ordered the baked casa loaf with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil, the bread was cold and there was not enough oil served with the bread.

For an entree we ordered the grilled haloumi cheese and the scallops on half shell, everything including the bread was brought out at once and placed in the middle. The scallops were the smallest I have ever seen in my life and were dry and not nice at all! The haloumi cheese dish was quite nice. For a main my husband had the surf and turf which he asked to be cooked medium rare, I ordered another entree for my main being garlic prawns.

The surf and turf was way overcooked and tough, not at all medium rare, definitely well done and my prawns were nothing extraordinary! My husband did not eat all of his steak as it was too tough and when he told the waiter his response was "oh I never get any complaints about these steaks"! And then to top it off the dessert was disgusting! I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Wish I could come back here again but the food just wasnt exactly the best. The entree of turkish bread with olive tepanade was ok and not too bad. The fish and chips on the wednesday night special was very good. The fish was cooked in a lovely light batter. The problem was that the vegetable side dish had way too much pepper on it to be palatable and the dessert that followed afterwards was horrible and about the worst I've ever tried.

The creme brulee tasted bitter and burned and the tiramisu tasted several days old, almost mildew and definitely was not made of fresh ingredients. Its a shame that the food fell quite short of quality and expectation when the staff here are so lovely and friendly. My advice here from what I've tasted so far is to stick to the fish and chips but be very wary of everything else and go somewhere else for dessert.

Our experience at Mike's was excellent from the moment we were greeted at the door to the moment we left. My wife and I shared some oysters to start, I had the whole snapper for main and my wife the king prawns. I have lived in Sydney for six years and the food here is some of the finest I've had to date.

Additionally, the staff were very friendly and the barman was particularly helpful when it came to guiding us through the extensive wine list. Will be recommending it to all I know and will be back soon!
