At last, “The Claypot” returns to Sydney in the form of “The Claypot Taverna” in Kensington.

Owned and operated by Con Pavlou, “The Claypot” is renowned for its wonderful, authentic Cypriot and Greek dishes. Con successfully brought Greek cuisine to “The Claypot” in Gordon and then for many years managed the famed Surry Hills nightspot - “Dimitris”.

If you love the traditional food of Cyprus and the Greek Islands, you are sure to enjoy “The Claypot”. If you haven’t discovered the delights of this wonderful Mediterranean cuisine, then you are surely in for a treat.

Not only is the food authentic, so is the atmosphere with traditional Greek music providing a relaxed ambience. Con may even pick up his guitar and perform his unique renditions of some Greek favourites.

BYO is welcome with dining available indoors or outdoors in our relaxing garden setting. Group booking are welcome and we also offer 10% discount on take away dishes.

Just had a meal at the new Claypot Taverna, and would happily recommend it to all. A fabulous find with authentic, fresh Greek and Cypriot dishes and very friendly, personal service. Best of all the food is very very reasonably priced which is a rare thing in the Eastern Suburbs!

My friends ordered the lamb claypots and loved the slowed cooked, fall-off-the-bone meats and broth. I had the stuffed baby calamari and it was cooked beautifully, great flavours, not over-powering. The haloumi starter was delicious as well. This taverna is a real gem, we will definitely be going back and taking friends and family with us!

We had a wonderful night at the Claypot Taverna, the mezes were amazing, particularly the stuffed mushrooms! The claypot cooking style was perfect for a warm meal on a cold night. But more than that, the staff were friendly and attentive, with the manager even giving us some entertainment with a song! I would highly recommend a night out here for some good food at a reasonable price with added extras!

Having returned to the establishment after being severely disappointed by the previous management. The new management and new food are sensational! One of the previous wait staff were there and she greeted us with open arms. It was like coming home to old friends. Our sincere congratulations to the chef as all the food including the mezza that we had was phenomenal and fresh, the claypots were So morish!

The meat was very soft and flavoursome. My husband and cousin had the fish and my sister and I had the lamb and chicken. We were all satisfied and very full! Thank you to Marie and the new Claypot management. Will definitely be back!
