Bad service senior staff too arrogant. Food not up to standard, ambience is like a darn place. I breathe dust everywhere, certainly not going back for 2nd time.

Hm. Good reviews made me come here but I was disappointed: Ordered crepes, they were uneven and thick in parts, and the lemon crepes were very bland (needed lemon juice). Ricotta hotcakes were pasty and heavy, highly disappointing. Coffee was average.

Service offhand, people smoking close to food preparation area, place dirty. Food surprisingly good but not good enough to ensure my return. Clean up your act, Circle!

Good variety esp. the vege breakfast. It's great to have a breakfast without asking for sausages or bacon to be removed and substituted. Not much service considering the waitstaff ignore you when you arrive. You're basically on your own to help yourself to a table and order at the counter. Food not amazing, but did the job of a hearty breakfast. Screaming kids running wild (although more a reflection of bad parenting) seemed to annoy majority of us patrons.

I had eggs benedict this morning at Circle cafe and the ham was icy cold. When I asked about it being served cold I was basically told I was ignorant, offered the recipe book to prove that I had no idea about how eggs benedict is made, was also told by the very rude man behind the counter that he had been in America and this is the way it is done (I lived in America for 5 years and have never been served icy ham) and also I was told he had been in business for seven years and had never had a single complaint.

Occasionally you do encounter bad food or service, but the man I dealt with on this occasion was so abusive that I feel compelled to write about it. The worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life! He has the right to serve his dishes the way he wants to, if he had only said look this is the way I make the dish, I can, however, heat it up for you instead of embarking on his little tyrade which left me feeling quite ill, I would have been happy.

Good coffee, friendly atmosphere, what more could you ask for from a cafe? It is easy to miss it but worth looking out for it.

Of all of the cafes in Balmain, Circle is definitely the best. It's probably the most genuine, too. Its ricotta pancakes are delicious and its eggs are great. I love the Dotti's. They are cookies. The walls are brilliantly decorated with movie posters. The ambience is quite like a snow lodge
with stone bricks and warm chocolate colors. It has a beautiful garden which is most recommended to sit in on sunny days if you can get a table. Overall, this cafe is great and many more people should go there.

Balmain's best, most authentic cafe by a long shot. I come here often and can best describe the experience as a moment to slow down, relax and enjoy great food prepared with love. A great spot to take in all that the Balmain of old has to offer. I wish I could go more often.

I live in Balmain and have been to Circle heaps of times for brekkie and lunch. I love the ricotta hotcakes and all our friends agree they do the best poached eggs in Balmain! Also love their chai - it's fluffy and foamy with just the right blend of spices. It is a lovely place to snack and relax and catch up with friends, especially when the weather is good and you can find a table outside.

I love this place. I have been visiting here regularly since moving to Balmain and it has never disappointed. I love the chicken and leek crepes and the burger with the homemade mayo. You order at the counter but the service has never disappointed, for example my burger patty needed a tiny bit more cooking in the middle and they made me a complete new burger no questions asked. A new favorite.
