It is about time Balmain offers great food at great prices and service! Enjoyed a Friday night out with friends at the Monkey Bar's new Italian Bistro called Cicheti, which is located down stairs. We started with the chicheti tapas plate, which had all my favourite food from stuffed zucchini flowers filled with prawn and scallops, eggplant involtini, stuffed olives filled with feta to my favourite mini white bait fritters.
I ordered the roasted pork belly for my main which came with roasted pears, to my surprise it was amazing, the flavours of the tender meat and the crackle went so well. For dessert we shared the meringue layered with mascarpone and fresh berries. I really enjoyed the flavours of the food, the service was very attentive and the price was so affordable. I will definitely return.

Went to this restaurant on Friday night without a booking only had one table for 2 left. Though the services is very friendly they seem to forget some important stuff. The bread basket wasn't delivered only when we asked. The potato gnocchi was very good but missed something carpaccio of tuna simple. Our main courses were good and simple flavours but too much oil on the waygu meat.
Desserts were below average but not worth the fat, the price are only $11.50 I think they should charge more and make them much better quality. We were seated next to an open smoke room by the end of the evening it was like passive smoking. In all reasonable prices but for an extra 40 dollars you could get better location and food somewhere else.

Loved the food! yum yum but gotta say that the last time I was there (sunday) I had a terrible time with the service :( I think it was the senior staff but the guy who was serving my table was in such a terrible mood and strutting about, I couldn't bear it! But for those of you who can turn a blind eye, the food here is fab fab fab!

The food is wonderful, definitely recommend the suckling (pig) if available on the specials menu (confirm before you book). Overall, the food is fresh and high quality and if you've eaten at Il Piave, you will notice the similarities, simple dishes with great flavour and attention to detail. The service is excellent and the location is cosy and relaxed. A must try if you like Italian food and great service!!!

I love this place, we eat here around once a week. The food is great. For the starters we usually go for the tasting plate which has a variety of things to pick at like Zucchini Flowers, Eggplant, Olives on other Italian options.
For the mains there is plenty to pick from but my favourites are the Fish with Asparagus and mash, Chicken Involtini and the Duck. Make sure you save room for the desserts. The staff are great, warm and friendly.
