Cibo e Vino is one of those cosy quiet tucked away places that you can go and have a nice meal and relax knowing that any dish you order will be superb. We have been a few times now and have never been disappointed by the food/wine or service.
So much effort and thought has gone into each dish resulting in beautiful food. The shoestring fries are a must as is leaving room for dessert! The mains are of a very generous size with our favourites being the risotto and freshly made pasta.
Cibo really is the best restaurant in the Hills District for relaxed and unpretentious fine dining.

Just went again to this restaurant for Valentine's Day and outsourced my kids... it was a great night!
There were nice rose petals around the place and the food was unbelievable. For entrees I had ocean trout with organic beetroot and I loved the horseradish cream which gave it a kick. My partner had a fig with proscuitto salad which was also very tasty & fresh.
For mains my partner had fish in a bag - never had it served like this, but it was cute and super tasty! My steak was cooked just right and loved the buttermilk mash that came with it... we also had the Cibo fries with herbs & parmesan - we always do (got to be the best fries in town).
I could eat multiple servings of this stuff but kinda need to leave room for dessert. On that note, we both chose hot chocolate pudding for dessert - just can't go past it. Chocolate oozing in the middle with yummy vanilla bean ice-cream. I asked the waiter and she said the chef makes it in house and with real vanilla bean as opposed to vanilla essence.
All in all a very enjoyable night... probably should leave the kids at home more often!

Cibo e Vino is not as well known as some other local restaurants, but after dining at every restaurant in the Hills and Parramatta area that is worth eating at, I regard it as the finest. They make almost everything from scratch, their menu is uncomplicated and constantly changing, they have clean and amazing flavours, and it is clear a lot of thought goes into every dish.
The head chef who is responsible for the menu and whoever selects the wine has a great palate. Food of this quality (if you can find it) is far more expensive in the city so from that perspective Cibo e Vino is excellent value. You will not be disappointed.
Exceptional dishes - seasoned side of fries, all desserts esp choc pudding, lemon cheesecake and anything which includes their home made ice cream (please bring back orange noughat and roasted almond flavours!).

I'm a regular and I couldn't rave more about it. From the friendly staff who always make me feel welcome to the delicious food. Haven't got in yet to try the new menu, however, looking forward to it after all the temptation from the newsletter. I recommend if you're coming in to have a light lunch so that you can have entrees, main and dessert...plus you have to try the fries!

Very bad experience with Takeaway. Ordered 2 pasta dishes and both could not be eaten. $60 later we had Mcdonalds. Personally we will never order food from there again.
Response from Management:
Hi guys,
We’re so happy to see everyone’s comments on Cibo e Vino. We’re always experimenting with the menu and are sad to see some of these flavours are not be to everyone’s taste but we’re sending our chefs everyone’s feedback and will keep refining our menu.
We had a bit of a transitory phase earlier this year with some new kitchen staff but we’re coming out of the teething period now and are striving for 2012 to be Cibo e Vino’s best year yet!
Cheers,
The Cibo e Vino team.

A really terrific find. Certainly the best in the Hills district. The quality of food is that of a city restaurant. The warmth, charm of the service
is a winner here. It is more expensive than your average local restaurant, but it is a cut above the rest. Really worth revisiting.

Went here last Saturday and it's one of the best suburban restaurants I've been to for some time. The food is as good as many hatted restaurant I've been to in the city. The chips are out of this world, though the decor of the restaurant could be updated a bit. Definitely will be back for some more.

We attended dinner on Saturday night with a party of 6. I was recommended to this restaurant with high expectations!
The service started ok. But quickly faded when the food arrived. We order Seared scallops with Jerusalem artichoke puree and basil crème for entrees not very impressive!
The boys order some pasta Linguine with pan fried prawns and a saffron bisque which arrived with our mains and the prawns had a fishy smell and didn’t taste very good and was sent back to the kitchen.
The other main meals were ok, but as what the reviews stated generous servings, this was not the case. After spending $460 and what a waste of money = I could have cooked better myself.

I've always been a fan of Cibo, the staff are friendly and warm, the food is scrumptious and delightful. This time I tried something new and really enjoyed the truffle gnocchi! Also the dessert, bread and butter pudding, was heavenly.
All in all another great experience!

We have been Cibo stalwarts for a long time but after tonight this has to change. This was a special truffle degustation night, well nearly $400 later I can tell you this is not value for money. The first course of mushroom truffled cappuccino with brioche was nice but, later, half-cooked egg to me seemed unappetising with or without a shaving of truffle.
The scampi was not a tartare and smoked mullet roe looked like the black roe that one buys in supermarkets. The rather greasy pork neck did not seem like a confit to me. The poached beef by far was the star. I skipped the rice pudding dessert. So for three courses plus wine. $200. Not great value. We will have to look elsewhere in the hills. So disappointed as this was pretty expensive and up until now this has been our little "gem" around here in the "Hills Restaurant Dessert" Service, however, was very good as usual.
