I love this place. So good to find a relaxed pub with fantastic food, a great choice of ciders and wine and a good atmosphere. I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon catching up with friends, starting with the beef sliders (could've had all three to myself!) and then moving on to the lunch special, shoulder of lamb.

The sauce was rich and moreish and the meat was succulent and fell off the bone. Loved the caramelised carrots and the mash was so tasty and creamy. Really generous serving, I couldn't finish it which is unusual for me! My friends had the salmon which I heard was moist and tasty paired with lentils. The wagu beef burger next to me was demolished in a few minutes, very highly recommended.

I like that the menu is short and changes regularly. I've been a few times now and every time has been top notch. Next time I must remember to leave room for dessert! I'll definitely be back, a great place for a long boozy lunch with friends. A real find and just what the area needs!

We stopped by for dinner before a show at the Seymour Centre. They look like they've recently 'funkified' the place and made it shabby chic. Nice old pub feel in the old pub section and the beer garden was good. We didn't head upstairs to their cocktail bar (the Marmalade?). It has a good feel to it and a mixed crowd - uni students, older couples and young 30s professionals.

Friendly service but I felt a bit rushed when ordering as if I was a hindrance (done nicely however? is that possible?). The wait staff were really nice and friendly when they bought food out or cleared plates. Food selection appeared fairly good with a large pizza menu, the usual pub fare plus some nicer dishes.

I thought it was quite expensive at $19.50 for a chicken parmigiana with chips and a salad. It was good and large but not great for the price. $20 for something thrown in the fryer then covered in sauce, ham and cheese. Tasted good anyway. The marinated mushrooms as a side were large But they were cold. So disappointed on a cold night. They serve Montieths which I like.

Great burgers, consistently good. Best surprise, now opens Thursday and Friday nights. Our favourite is the Yankee.

It's pretty good, nothing spectacular but coffee is nice and food is good value, albeit inconsistent. Not overly expensive as well.

We live just behind this restaurant and dare I say, it's one of the best decisions we ever made! Golden Fang serves up the tasty goodness of Chinese Malaysian dishes with the minimum of frills and fusses, resulting in great value for money if you don't mind the somewhat gungy atmosphere.

The fact that the place is jammed pack with students is probably living testament to how good this place is. All time favourites include the roast duck, combination omelette, fried green beans and salt and pepper squid.

Delicious! Loved my brekky this morning and just had to share my discovery of this beaut cafe. I don't know how they manage to serve such a wide variety of fresh, flavoursome delights at such reasonable prices. The fare on offer is a little different to the usual and it includes some old-fashioned home-made stuff too.

The service is fast, friendly and obliging, the staff all seem very experienced. The second time we went there, a week after our first visit, the waitress remembered our drinks orders, amazing considering the constant stream of customers. There is a really friendly ambience yet the staff are quick and efficient. The coffee is superb. Also, despite being smallish it is not very noisy, unlike some places, making it wonderful for a relaxing long lunch with friends.

Despite being small it has an airy light feel about it. I only gave the ambience 8 out of 10 but that's just because it is a modern decor, but it's still nice. I just wish they were open on Saturdays, but I guess the chef deserves a day off after serving up truly top-class meals and snacks from Sunday to Friday.

3 staff at the counter ignored me while I waited patiently to be served. When another staff member appeared she served someone who came in after me. After that she very rudely told me to get to the end of the queue which very awkwardly runs up the middle of the cafe, in a very narrow aisle.

By that time other customers had come in after me but I was told to get to the end of the queue. When I was served I still had to wait a long time for my order and it was definitely not worth the wait, as the coffee was not very good, the food is overpriced and gluggy, nothing seems fresh. Walking down the narrow aisle is a risky business, obstructed by staff who seem oblivious to customers trying to get past. I will not return.

A delightful pub with great food. We went there with a voucher for two one Sunday night this month. Pleasant and relaxing theme, drinks were quickly offered and menu explained.

Service was friendly and prompt as one expected for a pub. The real surprise were the quality of the food, we have a mixed entree to share which was simple tasty and high quality. We both choose the slow roasted lamb which was huge portion, the taste/silky moist and texture will beat any high end restaurant, we have a good portion left to take home. The share dessert was simply out of this world, there were macaron, passion fruit mousse and a pipping hot lava cake oozing with melt chocolate. I came home and bought 3 more voucher just before the deal finish.

We had a very ordinary experience and will unlikely be back. As a table of 8 to celebrate a birthday we waited an extremely long time for our drinks and finally received a warm bottle of sparkling wine. Plonked on the table unopened. It felt like no one was looking after our table for the entire evening.

Entree was slow to arrive (tinned anchovies on a bread board!). The mains not too long. All at the table thought the food was as average as the service. My dry overcooked salmon was def not worth the $26 price tag. We were not offered dessert or coffee until hours after the main when the lights were being turned up. Obviously an attempt for us to vacate the table. There are soo many good places to go in Sydney. This is not one of them.

I've been to Freda's a couple of times and I am always surprise to let myself have a cocktail as I am usually not into cocktails. Their selection is great and so is the way they make these, just to mention the alaskan highball or the brooklyn.

The food is rather mediterranean which is a plus for me cause it brings me back home. Also like the way the portions are served cause it naturally gets you to share with the rest of your table. The best experience I had there was a couple of weeks back when they put a whole lamb on a spit. It just tasted like heaven. I saw on their facebook page that they are doing it again next week, and I'm definitely going to be there!

Pleasant place to drop in for a casual lunch. Service was a bit too casual, tending to off-hand. Food fine.

Haven't been to this place since it was the Duck and Swan pub. Was really looking forward to eating there as I'd heard good things about the renovation.

Really disappointed. The waiter was extremely hostile and had an awful attitude. He seemed bored and irritated that we were even there (6.30, early on a Sunday night, it seemed reasonably quiet).

I struggled to find anything I wanted to eat on the menu. When my meal arrived, (deconstructed pie and mash) the mash was completely cold. Also, the Duck Inn claims to be kid-friendly, it's not, unless you think $18 for a small beef burger is kid friendly.

Yes the renovation is nice but the food is pretentious and overpriced and the current wait staff need to find another vocation. Working with people is not their thing.

Old style pub, rather cramped and not enough chairs on a Fri night, but the people were pleasant and the food was fine too.

Wow.. Simply Wow. I live just a minute away from Mulligan's but never had the courage to go and try a meal at an Irish restaurant. Last Thursday I went to Mulligan's with my housemates (one of them being Irish. That's how we ended up there. Thanks Miriam). But I have to tell you it was more than a pleasant surprise. I loved each and every bite of it. I could not stop myself from hogging to glory. At the end of the meal we were so full that we had no place for dessert.

Beautiful home cooked hearty food in an awesome down to earth homely restaurant. An evening with special people (my housemates) does not get any better than that.

To top it all they had a Psychic at the restaurant, Annie... I had never been to a psychic before so it was an awesome experience. About 50% of what she said was quite true. But the Psychic dimension to the evening made it even more special. Because we then came and discussed it in the group and had a great laugh at time too.

The menu is simple and easy to understand, they also have specials for every evening. For entree, we had the Boxty Pancakes, Chicken & Mushroom Parcels, Garlic Prawns and the black and white Pudding. Loved every bit of it. I could not fault anything there. Decent portions. Nice and hot. And what was even better was I had never tried any of those previously.

For mains we had The special for the day which was the Lamb Shank (shredded ofcourse) Guinness pie, Bacon and Cabbage and the Irish Stew. Beautiful, simple, tasty and "massive" portions. We enjoyed the meal alot and struggled to finish it.

Now that I know Mulligan's is fantastic. I think I will visit the restaurant quite often. The Wait Staff were also excellent. Always attentive to our needs and made us very comfortable. And yes, they were from Ireland.

All in all Mulligans is a winner. I bet you will love the experience of dining there. Highly Recommended.

It's an unassuming location that I stumbled across today and had a North African inspired burger out in the back courtyard. Burger, chips: great. But really, Mirian's charm (I didn't know her name until I saw it on this page) is in a class of its own: funny, charming, welcoming. I'll go back just to hang out with her!

I simply cannot believe this place has got Any decent reviews, surely we can't be talking about the same place?! I had been wanting to go here for a while because it looked like a really cute and authentic Italian. We went on Valentine's night but hadn't booked. They sat us down, gave us the menu and brought some 'complimentary' antipasto. Whatever it was was cold and nasty.

Only after we had tried some of this did we were realise that it was a compulsory three course set menu at $45pp. We just wanted a nice bowl of pasta or something, but feel like we were manipulated into having three courses, and paying a damn sight more than we'd anticipated.

The food was absolutely disgusting. The so called gnocchi they brought out tasted more like canned cannellini beans in tomato sauce and random blobs of mozzarella. Then onto the mains, I had the mussels which came with no bread for the sauce and no finger bowl. My partner found some bone in his chicken breast?! The sauce they put over it was a horrible grey looking stodgy gravy.

Green beans were served with the meal and somehow half of them were old, stringy, shrivelled up things, and the other half were barely cooked?!The 'gelato' they speak of for dessert was no such thing. It was slimy and cheap and I wouldn't be surprised if it was some own brand bulk buy rubbish.

The service was useless, no-one knew what was going. There is absolutely nothing authentic about this place. Any Italian worth their salt would be ashamed to put that food in front of anyone. We actually felt like we were in an episode of 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares'! Never again!

If your menu says 12pm till late then you need to serve what your menu has on it even when the grill chef goes on a break. Late is not 8.30 on a Sunday evening.
If you can't even do fries then there is something wrong. Also $9.00 for a schooner of Peroni is a bit much.

A few friends and I went on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not very busy and seemed a bit sterile, but soon it filled up and the vibe picked up. We ordered a number of cocktails which to be honest were not worth the $17 each. Given the staff were doing their best at looking like they knew how to make a delicious cocktail they failed tremendously.

We had the Pink Gratefruit Fizz, the Pineapple Fizz and the fruity Margarita incase you want to stay clear. The positive of the night was that the staff were very active and pleasant and recommended a good Spanish cider so not all was wasted. Although we didn't eat the food selection looked inviting and so did the aromas.

What a gem! Unlike many pubs it is quaint, bright and homely, nestled away like a secret. It is only small so next time I will book, it was also quite a hot night and with no air conditioning it was a little hot.

The wine and food menus are both short but of very high quality. My sparkling wine was delicious, crisp and refreshing. The menu, although small, has something for everyone and is very well thought out. I had the salmon which was full of lots of fresh flavours. My partner had sausages, which were real, thick and juicy looking. I will definitely be back with a booking!
