Fantastic place for chinese food. Great value for money, friendly staff, clean place to dine as compared to other chinese joints. Unintentionally found this place and have been going back since, definitely worth trying out
This is "local" Chinese at its best, or even a nice (and very reasonable) special night out. The host and staff treat you like you are the only people there, patient and attentive. This will be one of my regulars, but don't tell anyone, I want it to be our secret!
Great place!! Love the food here! Sally rocks! The service is incredibly good and the staff are very very friendly. A must go! The food is very good from the pricing.
Gorgeous little Chinese place in Surry Hills that is not your usual slimy Chinese takeaway. Had the San Choy Bow, Shezuan Prawns and Chicken in Blackbean. What a delicious meal! Really nice tasty light food and great price.
One of our favourite local Chinese restaurants where the food is tradtional with a modern twist on some of the dishes. Must have dishes have to be sang choy bau, seafood spring rolls, duck pancakes, crispy skin chicken and the list goes on. The atmosphere is always welcoming without being intrusive and the prices are very reasonable and we always leave with a full belly.
Food very typical Chinese for westerners however very overpriced. Quality average and service nothing too proud to be about. Decorated in red with a fusion attempt. Average restaurant unfortunately with many great Chinese restaurants elsewhere.
The meal at Chinese Whisper is a truly sumptuous feast. The standard of the food served at this restaurant is really worth the value!!!! some of the Must trys are : sweet vinegar pork chop! brocolli with mushroom! fried rice! seafood spring roll! fried banana!
Besides the food, friendly service and comfy ambience makes one feels more at home and relax too. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit for those who has never been there before.
This place is an absolute find on the lower end of Crown St. Everytime I've visited there has been next to nobody else in the restaurant, adding to the overall positive experience. The food is excellent value, the servings are plenitful and the place is BYO! An excellent choice for catching up with friends or family, or for a casual dinner with a partner.
Been there once and just kept heading back, clean place, good service and most of all good pricing for that good quality of food, seafood springrolls are really yummy entrees, dumplings in the short soup tastes fresh. Mains like shredded beef in special sauce, honey king prawns and salt and pepper squid are a must try. Surprisingly they have good desserts and I must say the fried ice cream is really a beautiful dessert to look at, but fried banana's with ice cream is really satisfying. Pricings are moderate, for a good meal abt 20+ per pax.
We've only ever had takeaway, but about a dozen times! There is a good variety of dishes which are of reliably good quality, and an appropriate size for the price (mains $12-$19), probably similar in value to most Thai restaurants. The seafood spring rolls are great, salt and pepper squid or prawns delightful, and they do takeaway icecream. Marvellous for lazy Thursday nights.
