I've nick-named this place "dumpling mania" - it's a special treat! Their dumplings are good, the noodles slide straight down, the food is fresh and gorgeous. Even the service is getting better. Can't fault this place.
This is one of those places where you might not like everything on the menu but you go there religiously for certain dishes. I love this place and the value is amazing. Noodles to die for. Recommended.
Great place, great food. Love the handmade noodles and the little window where you can see them make the noodles. Dumplings are great. Friendly owner. We go there 2 times a month and love it every time.
Authentic Northern Chinese food with very fresh ingredients. The noodles are silky smooth, the dumplings light and seasoned just right. You need to not mind being crowded in, but that's part of the charm. The decor is odd but cosy.
Regular favourite, I work in Ultimo and it's famous with people in my office. Pork and chive dumplings are amazing. Spring pancakes and braised eggplant also great. Don't go there if you want a romantic dinner or a long chat, you'll get booted out!
I know this is a very popular place and the main thing to eat here is dumplings, but I have had better dumplings elsewhere and at best I found it average. I found the place being called noodle restaurant a bit weird when people seem to be going there for dumplings, which is even stranger that the place next door (cho dumpling king) no longer makes dumplings.
Ambience, well it is a very small place, also claustrophobic. Service wasn't good either, it's like I'm bothering them to do things and they all look unhappy to be there. Was it because I was ordering two serves of dumplings with four people there? Value though, you can't argue that the food is cheap!! Overall not a place I would go to.
My girlfriend and I used to eat here 2 or 3 times a month but in the last 2 months it's become twice a week. We pretty much have a serve of pan fried pork/chive dumplings and a serve of steamed pork/cabbage dumplings everytime. $17.80 of damn nice dumplings. Other dumplings such as chicken are good too but the pork one's are best. Service is fine, always smiles and free pots of tea. Noodles are good too.
If you are after a solid sit down meal and lengthy chat with your significant other. Head elsewhere. In fact, you probably do not even need to be told that. The view from the front says it all.
Chinese Noodle Restaurant would have to be one of Sydney's best dumpling houses. The service is quick, very quick. In fact, do not stop eating or your bill will arrive and that will be that. However, it is well worth the wait out the front, the twists and body contortion needed to be seated and the evil eyes you will get from the woman at the door.
If you like dumplings, close your eyes, grin and bear the service and just be glad that they are awfully good and awfully cheap.
