Amazing food in a traditional restaurant. Long waiting time to get in is forgotten once you taste the food! Service inside is very quick.

This place does attempt to be anything that it isn't. It probably couldn't care less about the reviews on this site because it is always so incredibly busy. You order your food before you get inside and as soon as you sit your food is almost ready.

At the same time, as soon as you finish you are expected to leave. I go here all the time because it is so cheap and the dumplings are the tastiest I have found in sydney. The food here is a amazing and the high turnover of customers leaves no doubt in my mind that the food is fresh.

If you are in the area and are looking for a cheap eat, don't think twice, eat here and then tell eatability what you think, you won't be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I are hooked on this place at the moment. On a lazy weeknight when we don't feel like cooking, this is the place to go for anyone in the area. Overly generous servings of dumplings and noodles to die for. The Mrs and I can eat well for a $20, representing the best value in Sydney. You must be warned though, the beef and shallot pancakes (deep fried) are addictive, and I'm pretty sure not too friendly on the waistline. The ambience is crowded and plain, but that is what makes it so enjoyable.

We eat lunch here all the time. It's fast, good value and good tucker. Not so good if you are trying to lose weight but among the best dumpling shops in Sydney. We always get the dry fried french beans. pan fried pork and chive dumplings and the salt and pepper prawns. Steamed veg dumplings are also good. My friends also love the dumpling soup and the greasy eggplant.

One of my favourite place to take friends to - the delicious food and the incredible price never fails to impress. Service isn't great but it is extremely efficient - as mentioned, the main ball game is in the value for good food. Kitsch decor definitely makes it more fun! Braised dumplings, eggplants in special sauce and fried noodles are definitely recommended.

The food here is totally excellent! The venue itself leave a lot to be desired and the staff could be a little more attentive. However the tasty, super fresh/hot food makes up for it completely! We've been coming back to this place now 1-2 times a month for a good year now and are never ever disappointed! The hand made noodles are to die for and the dumplings are just as good! All this for approx $60 for 4 people incl soft drinks! An awesome place to get authentic Chinese dumplings & noodles the flavours of their dishes are simply mind blowing! One of the very best in Sydney!

This place is brilliant, I try to go there at least once a month for their chewy noodles and juicy pork and cabbage dumplings. Service is not exactly friendly but incredibly efficient - even though there's a 20 person queue I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes, and they sometimes take your order while you're in line so your food arrives at your table when you do. The food is delicious and filling (and cheap!), and the condiments (chingkiang vinegar, chilli) are great if you're in the mood for tears of painful, delicious joy. The decor is not the best but who has time to care when you're cramming as much flavour in your mouth as humanly possible?

I absolutely love this place! Amazing dumplings and the Xijang handmade noodles are better than most of the dishes I have paid double the price for in Newtown.
My partner and I can have a feast here for under $20 between us. One of my favorite restaurants in Sydney. Consistently good.

Love the food there! The shop is a little small but the food is so good, and it cheap 2! I love their chive dumplings and my mom loves their noodles. I just realised that I have been visiting that shop for 10 years! Guess that says it all.

Above average, if not spectacular, Chinese food with generous portions at good value. We tried a range of dishes and agree with prior reviews re the dumplings being the best option. Service was fast and they allowed us to take our time eating which is not always the case at places with limited seating. Only downside was the conspicuous location of a cigarette butt disposal unit outside (and associated users) which meant smoke wafted in from time to time. But, food and value were good, hence, we would come back again.
