While I don't find the food better than some of my favourite Northern Chinese restaurants (ie Chinese Noodle Restaurant/House and Sea Bay), it's not far off. And with more comfortable/less-cramped seating and less chance of queues (And ice cold Tsingtaos), I can see Chinatown Noodle King becoming a regular haunt for me and my friends. More detail on the blog.

The griddle cooked tea-tree mushrooms are to die for. Fantastic home-made noodles and chunky jelly-bean slices in gutsy Sichuan sauce. Big portions, low prices and pleasant service. If you like it Hot, give it a try!

This place is the best place to eat for its low prices and authentic chinese cuisines. I am always coming back for more.

This place is by far the worst service I've ever been to, what a waste of time. The waitress is absolutely terrible, wouldn't even give us the table of our choice (not that there's anyone there, the place is empty, I should have known).

The food comes 10 minutes apart just like previous reviews, cutleries missing, sauces missing, basically you have to ask for everything. I hope they are getting these waitresses cheap (coz you might as well ask the customers to serve themselves). And no, I'm not a westerner asking for sweet and sour pork nor am I paying 1 cent a dumpling in china to deserve service like this.

To cap it off, you have the friends of the staff standing in the cashier counter telling you they don't work there when you ask for the bill, when I've been just standing there waiting to pay and she's chatting up the cashier for 10 minutes. Don't stand there genius!

Yet another grimy mainland Chinese style restaurant in Chinatown, complete with greasy menus and dirty walls and floors. Sometimes, disregarding the dubious hygiene, they can be a pleasant surprise, such as Yee King on the main street. We were hoping for a new discovery last night when we stepped into Noodle King but to no avail. The spring onion pancake was a bit dull and tough, you can get lighter flakier ones at the Uyghur places. The shredded chicken salad was a breath of fresh air, a good dish to break up big piles of starchy Northern style cuisine.

However, the dumplings were rank, the pork wasn't cooked in the middle, they still had that mushy raw pink mince, with pink juices flowing out of them. We left all of them without eating them. Rude service with waitresses that can't even look at you let alone say anything or crack a smile. Don't bother.

This place is really great, as close to authentic everyday food in China as you get. It's not a place for westernised food like Sweet and Sour Pork or Garlic Prawns so if that's what you want then stay away. But if you like to explore new things, like dumplings, noodles, and a great variety of other specialty food, then I highly recommend it.

As good as Chinese Noodle House, with newer decor, and more convenient for larger groups. You don't have to wait to get a table.

Had the garlic prawn dish - just awful! 10 whole garlic cloves chopped in half, salty and prawns tasted rancid. Table was very wobbly, waitress forgot our rice. There were two of us and the dishes came out 10 minutes apart. My partner had twice cooked pork which was just ok. Very poor choice of restaurant.

Very oily food, unattentive service not vegetarian friendly as they claim!

I've been to this place quite a few times due to the variety on the menu and the number of dumpling dishes (I'm a big fan!). Place seems very authentic and I like the way it's quite Asian, it also has huge booths to cater for larger groups.

The food is interesting if you're willing to explore, there was some good meat and veggie dishes and soups. Dumplings are mediocre and I had a tofu and preserved 1000yr egg dish that was ruined by it having too many salty preserved veggies in it, was so looking forward to eating that but there was hardly any preserved 1000 yr egg in it at all! Tiny pieces.

Service - sometimes ok and sometimes bad.
