Food average service average. Time came to pay the bill and we gave cash and a credit card and they told us too hard to split bill! Will not be going back and certainly won't be recommending to anyone.

Firstly, the female staff who took the order was rude on the phone, the foods were less than average and one of the worst tom yum I ever tasted-just no flavour. Delivery was the only thing I was happy with it was much quicker than I anticipated.

Food is consistently good however the service over the past couple of months has definitely dropped off. Still a good suburban Thai.

I have been twice to this restaurant, and I think it suffers from only employing young students. They are friendly enough, but tonight I asked for a "doggy bag" for my barely touched meal and was virtually ignored. They are overworked. The restaurant was only half full, but the staff were too busy to attend to us. Once you have been delivered your meal you are ignored. They need a mature "front of house" person to manage the whole show. Ok for takeaway.

BTW, most of the chairs are low stools with no backs. The Butterfly Prawns were stodgey, Tom Yum Goong was too chillied. Hubby had the salt and pepper squid and this was very heavily battered. Sorry, I cannot recommend this place at all.

Went there last night with the family, staff most welcoming especially as we had a 2 yr old, his high chair was in place, the starters were excellent ie Rice paper rolls and veg spring rolls. The mains were a little disappointing as far as the meats (my beef was tough and not very tasty) but all the salads were excellent. I would go there again for the lovely staff and most of the food.

Tuesday 28th sept three adults and two young boys who chose the starters and the sweets, mains duck and plum sauce, Larb gia, Whole barramundi 'boned' heaps of good quality rice, all agreed this Thai is the best in gladesville and the equal to Sailor Thai, the courtyard was excellent, my second visit and more impressive than the first time.

Went there last night when a friend was in town. Fantastic restaurant! We had the Duck in Plum Sauce which was to die for, Larb Gai and Panang Curry all of which were sensational. Also very child friendly. Will definitely be back!

The first time we went, we went back 3 times that week. Highlight dishes include Money Bag, Duck with Lettuce, Angel Prawns, any prawn and chicken dish is a winner especially the Chilli Jam and Lime and Peppercorn King Prawn, the whole Barramundi was great. The curries can be a tad sweet but they certainly can adjust the heat. Service is pleasant which is normal to Thai standard. Food is great value for money.

Chilli Jam brings back delightful memories of my regular Bangkok sojourns and my time working in the Kingdom where one could leave the condo or hotel and walk out on the street and indulge on som tom and sticks of moo bhing or gai yang. Everything dish imaginable was available only a few steps away and at night the sidewalks would be taken up with plastic chairs where hungry workers nursed plates or bowls of delights from their favourite food stall.

I have to heap praise on Chilli Jam for ambience. One of the few restaurants I have ever been to which truly affords ambience. The restaurant is nice enough but the courtyard oozes charm. What would be an ugly space between 3 buildings and a rear wall has been transformed into an intimate dining area, palms, red walls set off by decorative timber and subdued lighting accentuated by candles. Almost how I envisage a Buddhist temple would look like, serene.

Sadly the food can’t compete. Money bags were ok, prawn cakes in lieu of fish cakes were tasteless and had a texture resembling offal and satay skewers that tasted more of chicken than satay. And the sauce, straight out of the peanut butter jar. The Tom Yum was too sweet and it was a chore to avoid the lemon grass, lime leaves and dried chilli (?) to get to the 3 prawns. Pad Thai was none too palatable, and the chilli jam stir fried beef was forgettable. And only $70-.

With the number of Thai restaurants in Gladesville this place is going to have to lift its game to survive. Pity, I love the courtyard.
