Always a good feed. Half price cocktail nights on Thursdays...never try to drink your way through the list, you will only hurt more the next day! $8 steaks awesome...but I prefer the $18 one with sauteed veges and mustard, scrummy! The antipasto platter is great value as well, huge, easily feeds 2 for a meal, 3 for a snack.
Was recommended by housemates to come here so we had dinner for 4. Its noisy as far as pubs go with a large projection monitor showing some footie as well as a few more flatscreens all around the place. Distinctly white collar crowd and packed every single night. Service is over the counter and for a pub, its quite alright. Although they really just take the order and buzz you when its ready so not much service as much as you serving yourself.
Decent selection of beers and a much vaunted under $10 steak. I tried the salt and pepper squid, which was oversalted/underpeppered if well-cooked. Chips were good and salad was basically a bunch of raw veg. I think it was supposed to come with an aioli but certainly tasted like plain mayo to me. I'd say stick with the steak, which is cheap and decent. Its pub fare at pub prices. I feel its quite decent especially to knock back a few cold ones on a night out right after work.
Came here on Sat night to catch up with friends for a couple of drinks and ended up staying for dinner. For a pub meal, the food was of excellent quality, this was made better by the fact that we got value for our money. The cocktail of the month was also a highlight. Bar staff was friendly. Only downside which took away a bit of the ambience were the various large groups of young schoolies, but will definitely be coming back.
Can't go past the Chelsea for a cheap pub meal in Chatswood. We have never been let down. The food is always great and the variety of themed nights throughout the week definitely keep everyone coming back. I would hihgly recommend the $8 steak and mash, and the wedges as a side. Staff are always friendly and it's just an all around good pub.
