Food was average, and quite expensive for the portion size. Time limit was an hour and before our dessert had arrived, we were told we were past our hour limit and asked to finalise our bill. Staff were very busy and speed walking everywhere. It was a rushed and loud atmosphere. There was an item which was unavailable on the menu.

Had dinner with my family. Ordered 3 dishes but left after the second dish. The service was very poor and we waited ages for the dishes to arrive, by which time our rice was cold and we lost our appetite. Worst of all, the kitchen staff can't cook. The 2 dishes we had were very basic and common Chinese dishes. The kitchen staff can't even get them right.
The place was, however, packed with people, many of them are tourists like me I suspect. Wonder why they call themselves chefs gallery. They are so lucky because they are doing good business because of the location and has no chance of surviving if they ever come to Melbourne.

Had dinner here on Saturday night for a friends birthday. We were originally told that we would have the table for 1.5 hours but was rudely interrupted during dinner to be informed that we could only have the table for an hour as we were only a group of 6.
Food was definitely overrated. Ordered the torpedo prawns served with peking pancakes and the wagyu beef. The prawns served with peking pancakes was okay. The wagyu beef was horrible! Too chewy and the chilli was so overpowering. Couldn't even finish the plate and my friends who tried it didn't like it either.
As it was a friends birthday, we had the intentions of surprising her with a cake that we had left at the restaurant prior to our reservation. When I secretly asked one of the staffs to bring out the cake to us, she brought out the bag and box that the cake had originally came in and placed it on the table saying "Here is your cake!" and just walked away...total shock.

This place is Awesome. It very much reminds me of the very modern and very efficient restaurants you would find in Asia. The kitchen hands would bring the dishes out to the tables and the servers/waiters would then serve the food. You can see them making dumplings and noodles through the glass windows. There is seating directly in front of these windows.
I wish I had seen this before we were seated. Every dish we had was very flavoursome. The service was very efficient and we are definitely going to be eating here again! Its my new favourite place to eat in Sydney.

I had lunch here on Tuesday 10-4-12. No queue which was unusual but appreciated. Sat outside kitchen watching chef make noodles and soups. Amused to see large serves of Starbucks coffee delivered with 2cms of cream on top. The order was taken Taiwanese style and items ticked off as delivered.
Food was well presented and quickly delivered. I thought the standard of the food was equal to the better yum cha and noodle restaurants in Sydney. Staff seemed rushed and a couple of plates were dropped clearing tables while I was there. Overall a good experience and I will go back.

I think this is the most overrated and overpriced Chinese restaurant in Sydney.
Very mediocre food. Scallops were overcooked, beef (wagyu? I doubt) is so chewy. Duck was cold.
Kitchen staffs in the gallery are just pretending they cook but they actually don't. There is a separate kitchen you can't see. What a gimmick! I'd rather go to a local suburban Chinese restaurant.

It definitely wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't that great. Their main draw card for me was the fresh noodles and the sesame pig shaped buns which were great but the hot and spicy wonton noodle soup I had is no different to what I have had a Din Tai Fung. I would like to go back with a bigger group and get a big mixture of things to taste. I will definitely give it another go. Great for a quick and easy meal.

Best thing about this place is the food and ambience. It has a great lively atmosphere and the decor is new and modern. Food is tasty (although I suspect MSG has a bit to do with it), but not cheap. It does have a waiting line most of the time but if you go for a late dinner you should be able to get a table straight away.

There was nothing exciting about this place. The wait was so long and after 40 minutes, we had a lousy meal and similar service. The food was tasteless and not made for human consumption. Wasted so much time to be overly disappointed.

Overated and average.
The truth is it’s quite average in my eyes. I’m a noodle lover, and when it comes to handmade noodles it should taste like it’s handmade! Unfortunately, for me I was a little disappointed, the noodles were still hard and was not cooked properly. Even if it was cooked properly the soup didn’t taste nice so it wouldn’t have made a difference. The only nice dish was the wontons, all the other dishes I ordered was also average. It just didn’t taste authentic.
