This place is cheap but tasty. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and the decor is truly wanting, but the food is really really tasty. Nothing about this place is delicate, the flavours are bold and adventurous. The chicken risotto (while a little bit on the oily side) is just fantastic, every time!

Highly Disappointed!
I ordered the tomato based risotto and I have to say that was the worst dish I have eaten till date. They made me a tomato based risotto with tomato ketchup. It was utterly disgusting. I have never tasted something so gross my entire life. I felt like puking. I would never ever go there nor would I recommend anyone to go there. Newtown has a number of brilliant restaurants which you should try. This Czech place can take a miss.
Just a piece of advice for the owners. If you do not know how to make a risotto do not have it on your menu. Let the Italians worry about Risotto’s. I am sure you have other dishes which are good. Why not focus on them.

Nice little place in Newtown. Food was pretty good. We had 3 entrees and 1 main to share. The waitress was very friendly had very strong Czech accent which added to the experience.

I love everything about this place, the owners are warm and friendly, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. The ingredients are so fresh and all the food is beautifully presented and generously portioned. Mains are around $15 and worth every cent. I'll be going back time and time again.

Table of 6 arrived Saturday night at 7:45. Got a table and menus straight away, however, had to wait 15 minutes for our order to be taken and then were told only two of the specials were available. I was hoping to have the duck but they had run out.
Entrees came out quickly, only $5. My sausage platter was good. About 45 minutes after we finished our entrees, the waitress came over to ask whether we were happy to have potato fritters instead of potato dumplings. When my main finally came out, instead of pork belly with potato dumplings and spinach, I got pork belly with potato fritters and red cabbage. Not quite what I ordered from the specials board. It was tasty enough, nothing great but not too bad for $19.
Will probably not return.

Had lunch with my husband and baby. All up great quality home-cooked style food, good sized servings and value for money. Service lovely. We will be back to try dinner.

Looking for a great, tasty, value for money feed in Newtown. Well, this is it! Been here 3 times already and will be coming again. All the mains are around the $15 mark, tasty, generous and seriously filling and the friendly service and a handy location make up a great little cafe. The only thing missing are some continental beers on tap but the owners are apparently working on the license already. Highly recommended!

A nice little cafe nestled among the cosmopolitan bustle of Newtown. The service was nice, friendly and efficient. And the food was interesting, with rabbit on offer. I order the skewers, and it came with some sort of potato patty and salad, which makes it a very nice square meal. And it cost around $15, which I thought was a reasonable price as the skewers were stuffed and compacted with great taste and aroma.
