The Chat Thai at the galleries, it fails miserably to meet the impeccable standard of food and service Chat Thai is known for. The pad thai was horrible and the prawns were over-cooked (it lost its 'crunch'). The dish lacked taste, the egg was pre-made and simply cut and tossed into the noodles, thus was slightly cold. Overall the dish was disappointing.

I've also had their pad see ew, which also lacked taste and was disappointing. Both dishes could not compare with the quality from others. The kitchen staffs at the galleries clearly don't care about the quality of the food they plate up nor intent on 'making them properly' to reflect the standards.

One of the girls who takes your order is plain rude and couldn't care less. No 'thank you' or a simple smile. I know the place is about self-service and focuses on a 'quick lunch', but that shouldn't come at a cost of good service. And the prices at galleries is more expensive than the lunch prices somewhere else! Huh what?

Just so annoyed by the customer service. Waiting for iced teas and asked the man if it was coming up, we were waiting for ages just for two drinks. He told us it's coming up and that we can't change our orders once we've made them. He clearly didn't understand what I asked.

At one point earlier I saw it on the counter and was about to get it and the girl working there just grabbed them and put them into the fridges, probably thinking we would grab the wrong thing, no wonder her perplexed look when she looked at our receipt 5 minutes later with a clumsy apology when she gave us the drinks she had stuffed in the fridge earlier which was meant for us in the first place.

Not nearly as good as the Campbell Street branch - Pad Thai is gluggy and curries taste like food court slop. They also seem to be getting progressively stingier with portion sizes. Sadly it was good a few years ago, but has gone downhill very fast.

Chat Thai restaurants are well known and are very very popular in Sydney. The range of dishes is different from all the other Thai restaurants and that is what helps to make it great. Two problems when eating here (I am a regular) is that one guy taking the orders does Not wear plastic gloves when he handles the food when passing it onto the kitchen. One wonders how many germs from dirty money etc are passed onto the customers. Doing this in front of customers is a disgrace.

I had fish recently on a monday and it was dreadful. The fish was not fresh and extremely rubbery and was not eaten by me. What happened. Most unusual to get a bad dish from this outlet. Other dishes are great and the servings are big and service is fast.
