I love Italian and this restaurant is amazing! The portions are very generous and the value is great. I agree the corkage is over the top. My parents come all the way from the South Coast for their Italian!!!
Went to lunch on a sunday. We were the only ones there so the service was great no probs, food was great, steak was tender, osso bucco just fell apart, garlic pizza was sooooo nice. I just didn't know about the sunday surcharge but other than that I felt it was worth the money for what we got. Service was great and quick.
We go to this restaurant when we feel like a good pizza (nowhere else in Manly to get one). The pizza is good the rest of the menu is mediocre at best, service is friendly and cheerful, but corkage is over the top.
I have eaten here twice and have no complaints about either meal. The first time was for our engagement party and with a group of 30 people we had no complaints. The food in the buffet was delicious and a great variety. The second time was with a group of about 10 and we sat outside, which was quite nice. Once again the food was great.
This restaurant has a very good field mushroom with bocconcini entree. Pasta was ok, pizza was good, but the chef's specials, which change every week, are what makes this place special. For instance, the Goat Parmesiana is cooked so tender it's like veal. Also the Baby Dolphin with mint and cream cheese is great, though very expensive, and you must order a week in advance.
Ambience is good. Many thanks to the manager also for being so nice as to give us all a free shot of port on my 30th birthday! Thanks!
Have been to Ceruti's a few times, this time was not the best experience. Ordered 2 steaks as mains and a side order of Vegetables for $7.90. The veges consisted of a small piece of corn cut in 3, about 5 pieces of beans and 2 broccolini, extremely disappointing. The steaks were average but at a cost of $30 each, coming with a piece of rocket and mushrooms, not the best value for money. Value for money was quite poor.
We went to Ceruti's for Mother's Day and had the set menu. Food was average, service was lousy. The restaurant wasn't even half full, it took over 25 minutes for our order to be taken, and we waited even longer for our food. We had to ask the female waiter more than once for a drink, she was completely clueless and totally useless.
Upon leaving we paid the bill with cash and left a $10 tip (not that they really deserved it) and after we left the waitress came after us saying that we hadn't left enough money!! Two of us counted the cash twice and it was definitely correct. None of us will ever at Ceruti's again!
Great atmosphere, has a vibrant feel to the place, some people may find noisy though. One of the better places in Manly for atmosphere. Food is really good, pasta is well above average. Service was well paced, we didn't feel rushed. Pretty good value for money compared with the restaurants on the Steyne. Wait staff were OK but none of them were able to speak English very well. One guy could only speak basic English (i.e. menu items) but couldn't really understand English! There were two Pinot Noir's on the menu, we ordered and received the cheaper one but were charged for the more expensive one! Matter was resolved when we paid. Would go back, all told.
Seems they haven't improved. I went to a Hen's night dinner here last week. The food was very very average and quite tastless. We did have a banquet so it might be different on the normal menu. Our platters of pasta were very bad and the chicken dish was also tasteless. I would not return.
Went to a 'hens night' dinner here and was most unimpressed with the restaurant. The food was bland and somewhat tasteless with the most disappointing dish being the potato chips which cost $8.90! We were seated at 7pm and didn't get our mains until 9pm. The one saving grace was our waiter, Callum, who did everything in his power to help us. He was great. Unfortunately he couldn't make the kitchen cook any quicker or make the food taste interesting. It is in the gold section of the Entertainment Book but we certainly won't be dining here again.
