Attractive restaurant, but very noisy so a strain to communicate with my dinner partner. My partner had main size pasta, flavour was Ok but only enough to feed a sparrow. I ordered steak ($36) which was hard to cut and chewy. Artichoke and potato tart was not fresh. I told the waiter, when he asked, how my meal was. There was no replacement offered, no apology, no reduction in price. Very expensive and extremely disappointing.

Very disappointing. Food is mediocre at best - salad appeared to be a bag of supermarket rocket up-ended into a bowl with a few bits of fennel and orange chucked in. No discernible dressing or seasoning. Pasta was adequate - but frankly, I could have managed this at home. Was that pre-packaged grated 'parmesan' on the top? Shameful! Pizza nothing to shout about either. Didn't bother with dessert. I'm getting tired of restaurants like this. A cynical, bums-on-seats approach that cuts corners at every turn in order to satisfy business managers, not giving a toss about giving its paying customers a fair deal. It's not rocket science. This is simple, relatively cheap to produce food - done with a bit of care and attention to detail, it can and should be spectacularly good. When the management takes its eyes off the profit line and turns its attention to the kitchen, maybe it will be. Cavernous, noisy, and strangely lacking in any sort of atmosphere. Turn the artfully dim lighting up a bit a and this restaurant would be revealed as it really is; an over-priced weekend and after school pizza joint with scratched tables, mis-matched cheap cutlery and dodgy carpet, full of squealing, spoilt toddlers in tutus and tiaras having birthday parties. Save your money and go somewhere that doesn't insult its paying customers.

Entrees are delicious, main meal have no italian flavour, dessert give it a miss, wine not cheap! Kids meal they spend less than $1 and charge $15, we had to share our main meal to feed them! There are better italian restaurant in Sydney!

Ok experience. Bad bits- slight arrogance in service. Rushed through at 630 for 8pm sitting. Pizza soggy and almost cool. Not one waiter knew their way around the Italian wine list. Overpriced for an hours pizza and red wine. will stick with my local.

Went there last night with 3 others. It looks really posh on the outside, and as you walk in, to the right is the bar with log fire and casual seating. Had a bottle of rose from king valley, and couple of beers. We were seated within minutes.
For entrees we had calamari, zucchini flowers and bocconcini wrapped in prociutto. All very good. For mains had: eggplant entree size, spatchcock, a pizza and dori with mash. Personally think good value for food. Can get quite noisy and also for a sat night was very family oriented so be prepared for kids, even the waiter couldn't hear some of our orders. Beers took a while when ordered during meal. We had a heater blazing right behind us which our waiter didn't know how to turn down.
Dessert was very nice: cannoli and panna cotta. Nightmare car park. Overall, will definitely be back.

A noisy venue, particularly when there are large party groups. Food is excellent, freshly cooked. Try their Thursday night fixed price special, check the website for details.

I am quite surprised at how many bad reviews there are, considering how full this restaurant was. We went to Cavallino on Saturday evening and the service was absolutely fantastic. The antipasto plate was fresh and enormous, we almost didn't need anything else to eat. I really enjoyed my main of calamari and the other main, a beef pasta was okay. Children's menu is a fair price.
Deserts of tiramisu and profiteroles were fantastic, highly recommend. The meals are a bit more expensive than they should be and the restaurant there's no denying is noisy, it is a big restaurant. We had a lovely time and I suggest you give the restaurant a chance and make your own decision.

Unimpressed! Group of 6, had to wait to be seated despite table ready, noise level bordered on uncomfortable. Couldn't hear the waiter, couldn't hear each other to have a conversation. Uninspiring antipasto entree, pizza's were covered in cheese and too many toppings, crust too thick, and nothing special. Main course of gnocchi barely entree size. Very expensive wine list, very expensive meal, can't believe this place made any top 10. Waste of an evening.

Arrived with a group of 6, ordered drinks, 2 of the beers didn't arrive, no explanation till we went Ourselves to the bar (after asking a waiter twice), no apology. Then to order required asking someone to come to the table. Pizza's pretty average, too much cheese, much better available elsewhere. Then to order coffee required again almost dragging someone to the table despite it being half empty.
Perhaps, it has gone down hill.

Been twice, would not hesitate to go back. Very good food, well cooked, full of flavour, say no more. The chefs obviously know what they are doing. Nothing disappoints. Sydney needs more restaurants like this round the suburbs where you can be sure that you won't be disappointed rather than those dives I have had the misfortune of attending lately houses that rely on a microwave and freezer and charge $30 a main. Cavallino is highly recommended.
