Old castile just moved to bondi rd and I haven't had it for a long time, so when I got the flyer in the mail I decided to give it a go. I ordered a castlie pizza, delivery was very quick. The toppings were incredible, the lamb was superb and melted in your mouth, the base, however, was very soggy, I hate soggy bases but the taste of the toppings was good enough to justify another trip, this time to the restaurant itself to try the pizza fresh.

When I had the pizza at the restaurant the base was still soggy! but I concluded that its because the sauce on the pizza was so rich it leaked down onto the pizza or something, and at the restaurant it wasn't as soggy as when it was delivered.

Next time I'm there I'm going to tell them to do something about the soggy bases, but the pizza itself is delicious, the best in bondi that I've had and there are like 200 pizza shops around here.

Being a local I would be expected to sell the local venues, but frankly speaking this is one of the best pizza restaurants I've been too, that's including some at Leichhardt, only drawback is the new venue they had to move to at Old South Head road due to renovations at the Bondi shop, but the food is still exceptional and service very hospitable. Fav Pizza, Opera!

PS. Who goes to a Pizza restaurant to order steak?

This place is a little gem. The food was fantastic, the ambience was nice and rustic and our waiting staff were fab, especially the english girl who went out of her way to be helpful and make sure we had a lovely time, which we did! We will definitely be back.

Am astounded by bad reviews and must reiterate this place is the best little restaurant in Bondi! By miles! Service, food and ambience are all first class! Don't miss out on this place its fabulous esps the Naples pizza!

The steaks were overdone and the waiter was very unhelpful. We won't be coming back.

Food is average but super cheap for what you get. Basic inside (plastic table cloths!) but friendly staff and quick service. BYO too with a pub opposite. Try the garlic prawns.

CURRENT REVIEW:
What was once the best pizza in Sydney has lost its glory at the hands of new management. Please note this location is no longer called OLD CASTILE, but rather BONDI CASTILE. Long time fans will have noticed a change in the pizza quality, coming from new owners. I first suspected this occured when I waited for a pickup and the "head chef" was yelling at a pizzamaker/chef for using too much ingredients.

It is unfortunate, please read my previous review to understand the issue.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Hands down the best meatlovers pizza in Australia. If you like pizza then this place is for you. I've never had any other pizza besides meatlovers, and I don't intend to. Warning, eating pizza from here will ruin all other pizza!!!

The food that was served was quite nice but the amount of food was not the best. For a group of 20 people to be served food that a group of 10 would have easily consumed is pathetic. I was told that it was the banquet that we were getting. For the price we paid I expected a lot more and was not overall impressed.

Absolutley best pizzas in Sydney. Try the 'Carls special' with peporoni or the Canadian if you like smoked salmon. I have been here many times. Although I don't live in the area anymore , I still go back when visiting.
